( Kromer's decided she quite doesn't like this place. It doesn't seem like her opinion is an unpopular one, looking at other posts that have cropped up, so that's great. Wonderful when all of humanity is on the same page.
smile.
A whistle comes through the phone first, then her voice. It's a little on the grating side. )
Testing, testing.... Looks like this works! How wonderful.
( It might also be a little familiar to certain people, too. )
What an interesting situation we've found ourselves in. ( "interesting". ) It looks like some of you are already starting to get to know each other a little and make allies, huh? Ahahaha...
( ...... )
Since everyone else is posing questions, let me do a few too. Did you get a waste-of-time text before you left the train? What did you answer? What is your "business"? What Nest are you from? And finally, of course, the most important question of them all...
( Kromer pauses deliberately, relishing in her own dramatics. )
Have we any heretics among our number? I'm looking forward to hearing your responses.
[ ooc: a reminder that her opt-out is here! i'd highly encourage at least glancing at it. ]

*n corp not k corp... canto iv still gripped me (haha get it)
Yeah, well. There's plenty of 'em here, I bet. Some of them don't even come from our City, do you know?
What are you gonna do about that?
it's ok i got you boo.... i understand. the grip (haha) canto iv has rn is unreal
What else is there to do? ( You purge the ill and leave the healthy. A body with necrosis won't last. ) I haven't seen anyone with them yet, however... A pleasant sight. As unlikely as it is, Keter, perhaps we've come upon a wonderful city where they recognize the beauty in humanity.

I somehow doubt that. Glad one of us is being optimistic about it, though.
[ in a really fucked-up way, but that's just the projmoon city's standard! ]
Were you in the middle of uh, your duties back home? Before you got whisked here, that is.
no subject
sure, her duties-- )
We were in the middle of nailing judgment upon a town in Nest K, headed by yours truly. It's something I'd love to get back to soon... An old friend of mine just happened to show up.
( yeah. total coincidence. no under the deal tables here. )
no subject
Nailing judgment on a Nest? Did they not pay their taxes there or something?
[ it's none of his business, but it's funny how it's nest k of all places. he may as well hear her out. ]
no subject
( well, sure, they probably do the normal one too. in theory.
but in practice, they Are chiefly concerned with metal. )
no subject
Oh, right. But... you said that you're from N Corp, right? Kinda weird that you guys doing some stuff at another district's Nest, unless both N Corp and K Corp are in cahoots with each other.
[ just mumbling out loud, don't mind him. ]
Well, uh. I should probably just answer your questions instead, huh. I'm just a subpar Fixer, so I can't really afford those kinds of fancy prosthetics...
no subject
confidential. she won't address the first part. the second part is good to hear--mostly. mostly, because... )
And if you could afford them, would you surrender your flesh?
( answer wisely. )
no subject
Probably not. Sure, there are pros to getting prosthetics, but they aren't for me. If I wanted a power boost, I'd just get enhancement tattoos or bioaugmentations - which are totally different from installing prosthetics, by the way.
[ one can't rise the fixer ranks without some form of augmentations to their body, and they don't have to be clunky and metallic either. is ncorp going to target them for that? 'cause if they do, they'd have to fight off all 12 associations for it and that's gonna be messy. ]
no subject
it would be too much trouble to regulate that with other districts unless they reached an accord, and even then, it would probably only... )
Yes, they're different. ( but it sounds a lot like "they're on thin ice". ) Good answer. I hope I have the pleasure of working together with you one day, Keter. In our City, it's rare to find others of the same mind as the two of us.
( no, he didn't say he abhorred them, but there's time for that. gonna buy some canned experience with her overflow rewards. )
no subject
[ he has a lot of buddies with prosthetics? there's nothing wrong with that kind of lifestyle. boy, if kromer ever met angela - ]
But, uh. You do your thing and I do mine, and if our paths cross at some point, we'll see where we can go from there. Is that better?
[ he'd never want to work for a zealot like that. how is she even crazier than the index themselves... ]
no subject
Whatever suits you. It doesn't ma... ( ...hold on, there's a delighted little laugh. ) Ah, it seems what's mine has come running, like I knew he would. We'll speak again later. Bye-bye for now.
( she has a boy to kill! good bye. )
