How do I explain it...?
If you're standing still, it's easy for someone to jerk you around, because they have control over how much force to use on the chain. They can also jerk you around in any direction, right? Anywhere they choose.
But if you are already walking, the only real direction they can jerk you around in is backwards. And if you're running - well, you'll be jerking them with you instead, right?
It seems to me that you should pick a direction and start running. Then, you won't be jerked around so much.
