[It's been a long time since this username has been seen on the network. Shinjiro's rarely one for idle chitchat, but he does pay attention. He was at the diner the day that iteration debrief went around, and he's been quietly stewing in it since.]
so if all this shit is really a simulation, what's it supposed to mean when people disappear from here, anyway
if they could just delete us they wouldn't need to make us kill each other to end a round, would they
[Or maybe they're simply that twisted? He doesn't know. But Amada's gone, and until this latest development he would've thought that was for the best -- but now he's not so sure. It's been bothering him, despite himself.]
dunno if these are even our real bodies or if is this some matrix shit
or even if those documents were planted for us to find or any of it's true

He turns on his own in kind; enjoy a grumpy teenage face on your screen.]
Yeah...even when you're used to 'em, they can be annoying. Usually just keep mine off when I ain't usin' it.

[he thinks they are FABULOUS. instant, long-distance communication. . . what a cool tool!1]
[as he speaks, Lyney claps his hands together. when he draws them apart, he is suddenly holding a red scarf, seemingly pulled right out of thin air]

[Plus the mortifying ordeal of
being knowngetting messages at any time, and all that. Not a fan. That sure is a scarf, though. Unfortunately, he doesn't show much reaction to it beyond a raised eyebrow...sorry man, having come from somewhere where you summon monsters out of your soul with a magic gun makes him a little tougher to impress.
He does seem to be waiting for whatever happens with the scarf next, at least?]

[being CONSTANTLY PINGED throughout the day]
But isn't there a way to turn them off?
[Shinji's lack of a reaction is fine; Lyney's had tough audiences before! it doesn't seem to take the pep out of his step or the smile off his features. as he speaks, he shows Shinji both sides of the scarf (which are perfectly normal; it's just cloth). then, he closes one hand into a fist and begins to tuck the garment into his palm, fingers curled so tightly around it that it is completely obscured from view]
[and when he next opens that hand. . . he isn't holding the scarf at all. rather, he's holding a red flower in its place]

[Shinjiro is not, how shall we say, someone who takes initiative about these things. Turning the whole phone off when he doesn't want to deal with it is so much more efficient to him.
Shinjiro still doesn't clap or anything as the scarf turns into a rose, though he does continue to pay attention. Idly, he remarks:]
Fan of red, huh.
[Good taste tbh, signed the boy with the red coat.]

Perhaps!
[that is a "yes," if his red-and-black outfit is any indication]
Red is the color of Pyro. Though admittedly, I also have quite a fondness for. . .
[he pauses and passes his free hand over the flower's petals, obscuring it from view. and when he draws his hand away. . . the petals are now greenish-teal!]
The color green.

[and then the flower "turns" green. huh! it's definitely a different flower, possibly an artificial one or perhaps dyed, but it is visually very cool, especially since green is an unnatural color for a flower.]
Neat. How long've you been doin' this stuff?
