[At first it's just an eyebrow with some muttering about stupid contraptions.] How does this thing work?

[He pulls it closer, but there's an eye now. You wanted to see an eye, right?] And just how are you supposed to tell if it is working?

[He sighs before holding it a little farther away.] Well, I do not know if it is working. This thing is unusual at best. I suppose I might as well make an introduction. Hello. [He goes to tip the hat that is not there before making an annoyed expression and moving on.] My name is John Henry, but you may call me Doc. If anyone is better with these things, I believe I may be in need of some instruction.

Unless I am talking to myself. [This is said softer and meant to be mostly to himself.] Perhaps I ought to stop this before I make even more of a fool of myself.

[ he doesn't know anyone named waverly, soooooo ]

And it seems like you can now respond to messages. I've started the same way when these devices were introduced where I was from, so I can understand the struggle.

[ and it honestly took a while.

so maybe, he should switch to voice instead? that might be easier?
]

What other challenges are you having?

The technology in this place is fascinating, I'd have to admit.

[ still more advanced than what they have in belobog despite some of the similarities with their relics. ]

The features that can be found on this phone are labeled based on what their functions are. The call and messaging features also seemed to be grouped together for ease of use.

You're welcome.

There's also a feature that allows your messages to be sent in private as many of these can be publicly visible. Though I would assume that our invisible hosts can still read them, but in case there is information you'd like to keep to a set of individuals, then it's possible.

It should be on the same feature as sending messages.

[ hold on, let him tinker with his phone ... ]

You should be able to select a specific person on the list and send them a message privately.

You're welcome.

I would recommend going through the device yourself and finding things on your own. But I'll let you know should there be anything important I might have missed.
