A fine question. It may have been a test of our reactions, perhaps? Not just the answers we chose to give, but our emotional responses to the questions, the associations they stirred up in our minds. The decisions we made while we put together our answers.

A mind is something like a pond, when you think about it. It could be orderly or cluttered, and you can study it as it is...but you can also throw a rock into it, to see what shapes the ripples make. The survey may have been like that rock.

I was. And the "room full of people laughing at me" question, which was certainly unpleasant >_> That's why I thought maybe it was intended to stir emotional reponses. It certainly managed that.

But you're right, there's something odd about that question. Why would it ask us for a reason, when we were all brought here without our consent? ...Unless we did give our consent, and simply have no memory of doing it? That's a horrifying thought.

Or perhaps there is more than one entity managing this city? One who wrote and distributed the questions, and another who brought us here, possibly without complete communication with the first? That might imply there was a breakdown in proper procedures...perhaps we were never actually intended to be brought here against our will? I suppose time will tell.

Must they? I've been assuming that we are all under constant surveillance, because that was the case in my previous transmigration. But if we aren't -- if, in fact, we've been left to our own devices -- it may be some time before anyone bothers to check on us.

At least one of our fellow captives believes we were all brought here in order to be pit against each other, as if in a giant cage match. I have no intention of killing anyone, of course -- but I see no evidence to contradict such a theory, either.

It's all rather nerve-wracking, honestly.
