[ Seimei is relaxing in one of the restaurant booths, apparently having a hot cup of coffee when he decides to pop up on the network. ]
Hello everyone! Has anyone figured out if we can go through the top yet?
[ Since powers all seem to be dampened and no one he's met yet can fly, it might actually make sense if the city had an opening above them. Well, it's at least worth setting that thought out for the public. They might get a chance to test it eventually. ]
Ah, but for an empty city, it's strange how consistent this place is when it makes us food. You would think that we would get some bad cups of coffee at least. It's more strange that it doesn't make mistakes.
[ He takes a sip to demonstrate. See? Perfect every time! ]
Since I'm talking about weird, my friend said that the only people brought here are strange ones. I thought it sounded like a good theory, so I want to ask: what is your strangest experience? Yes, we're all different from each other, but are you different from the people you came from? Or if we see things that are strange, sometimes we attract more things... Or maybe you're completely normal and this is a fluke?
I just wonder if this is really the first time something like this happened for all of us.
[ How many isekai veterans are in the city? This is important. ]

yeah i'm good, took over one of the apartments
nobody else there to be bothered about it so
[ really more of a metaphorical stray than a literal one! ]
no interest in finding out if we can go out the top though
no subject
You don't? Ah, well, what about finding out other things about the city? It's fine to get comfortable while we can, but aren't you curious about anything this place does?
[ Some might not be, but he's going to insist. ]
For instance, where the supplies come from or who constructed everything? That could be important.
no subject
anything on the ground i'm already looking into though
feels like i've covered half the city on foot at this point and haven't found anything noteworthy
no subject
Is that where everyone lives? What happened to the the sky?
[ Not that he even knows what world this person is from. It could be anywhere. ]
I've walked around a few times and noticed only a few changes, but it does seem to change now and then. Of course, it's hard to get everywhere. The city seems to have a lot of closed doors.
no subject
think like... two plates stacked on top of each other
top level is where things are nice, you got good money, fresh food. bottom level is all crime and shit money and shit food
nothing happened to the sky, we just can't see it from down below
what changes have you noticed?
the closed doors bother me too. i clocked the city limits day 1 when i tried to walk the train tracks but the number of buildings we can't get into was surprising
no subject
[ Oh, that was probably too blunt. ]
But that means you have a lot of experience with strange things, right? So you won't be surprised by anything that happens here.
[ Never mind that those two things don't have anything in common. Seimei has decided Heine must be capable of handling anything. ]
Well, the tourist center wasn't opened at first, and now we have that, the bank, and even more entertainments available. And if you walk past the limits of our districts, you apparently cross a great distances without any effort. Or maybe you just don't cross through?
no subject
also, he's hard to offend, so the blunt statements roll right off him. ]
better to be ready for anything. otherwise it's a waste of precious time
interesting. the tourist center has been opened since i got here
and the limits of the city have been the same size, unless my walking speed has gotten a lot faster
was it smaller before?
no subject
It's not too dangerous at the moment, but I agree that we should be prepared for anything. It's quiet now, so that's why I'm asking what everyone is used to. If things get noisy later, it might be too late.
[ He sips from his coffee again, thinking. The limits of the city are a problem he hasn't resolved yet. ]
The area we're in is the same. It's just that I'd like to know what lies beyond us.
[ He likes Heine's direct nature and can afford at least some direct answers in return. ]
However, it seems we can't go beyond the current limits.
no subject
it just kind of spits us back where we came from
i tried it on my first day here, walking in the subway tunnels. it just sent me back to the same station
if it was smaller to start and then got bigger, i wonder if more of the city is going to open up over time...
no subject
[ Is there a difference? ]
You might have a point. It's possible since more buildings have been opening recently. And yet they aren't stocking the existing places any more or less than they have been. I wonder why?
Anyway, what is life like underground? Have you ever seen the sky before all this?
no subject
[ c'mon! that's like asking to get jinxed... ]
before i got here i'd seen it once, but not for very long
it takes some getting used to
no subject
[He's helping, right? He's just helping!]
Have you been to the rooftops yet? That's the best way to experience it.
no subject
ยป "they aren't stocking the existing places any more or less than they have been"
can't say the idea of being on the top of a super tall building appeals for various reasons, but i'll take it under consideration
no subject
[ Yep, that's the priority. Answering the questions and poking into things that maybe shouldn't be poked. He's not really worried yet. ]
No? I guess it's not the best view if we can't see that far out. Still, being up there has a good feeling. The air is different. And it might be a good place to hide things if they are going to hide anything.
no subject
yeah, i don't think poking around the tops of buildings is for me
not unless i know for sure there's something up there worth seeing
no subject
[ The city keeps a lot of its locations closed and blocked off, which of course means Seimei wants to get to them. ]
I'm sure there are still things we can uncover.
