Text, UN: Loki
Greetings fellow inhabitants.
It has come to my attention that there could be people who have gone missing from our forced little community and it seems a good idea to start to keep track of who is here and who is no longer here so we might be able to keep track of such things and perhaps find out what has happened to those who are no longer. Especially since I believe we have found we cannot die.
So, I am requesting everyone who sees this please check in, and if you are missing someone, mention them as well. I would like to put together some sort of tracking list which I will make available to everyone once complete.
I thank you for your co-operation.

Let's agree to disagree there, yeah? When they aren't at each other's throats, I think they're quite brilliant. Always asking questions and coming up with something new and clever. Did you know they launched a telescope just this year? Took pictures of galaxies billions of light years away.

I think we must. Though I admit that you seem to have more experience with them than I so perhaps I may be willing to take your word for it.
A telescope? Oh my, that is so advanced. I had no idea.
[He hopes his sarcasm comes through over text, though really, he has met a couple of humans here that didn’t totally put him off, but he’s not in the mood to admit that.]

Look, when you've spent the last few epochs wondering if all your hard work amounted to little more than a pretty desktop wallpaper, and then all these people are working so hard to build clever machines to not just look but really study it, you'd be pretty excited too.

Does that mean you are responsible for the evolution of man? My, I had no idea you were so important. I am glad they have shown some progress for you then.

Also absolutely not. That was a completely different department with the dust and the ribs and such. I was on stars and nebulae before the whole kerfuffle.

Right, I believe I heard a bit about this. You were kicked out of your version of Valhalla, is that right? Shame really. Questioning things shouldn’t result in eviction. Your god truly does believe himself to be the one and only, doesn’t he?
Tell me, in your line of work what is the explanation for people such as myself?
no subject
Though with the Almighty, it's a bit of a She/They situation. But, humans, you know? Men wrote The Book, men decided on the pronouns.
Back home the explanation is that you're just stories humans made up. Here though? We're all from different universes. Might be a place where some of the gods and such are real, might be a place where they're all real, and might be a place where none of them are real. And if things can cross over from other universes... well, the stories have to come from somewhere, right?

It seems men are also a bit full of themselves. I do tend towards the male form myself, but I am actually rather fluid in that area. I do not see why the men of earth think they are so much above other genders. Really, there are pros and cons to both.
Though I have wondered at the true god status of your Almighty at times, I tend to think that we are all real. Simply in some worlds we are better known than in others. My people used to be better known on Midgard, but we stopped visiting regularly, so we fell into myth. Something I think was a mistake, but as I am not ruler, I was not listened to about such things.

[He didn't. He was a crying, bewildered mess. But, you know.]
I generally prefer being man-shaped; more convenient for getting around without caveats and restrictions or if you need people to actually listen to you. But I do like to dabble in the many facets of the human experience, so I've definitely been woman-shaped from time to time.
Ha, She wouldn't like that. Inconvenient musings like that'll get you called a blasphemer and chucked into boiling sulfur. She's always been very specific about who's at the top of the godly hierarchy, none coming before Herself, etc. etc. Not that I'm opposed; love a little bit of blasphemy, me.
If you lot do exist in my universe, I'd love it if you'd come out of myth. Be nice to see more options available than just Heaven or Hell.
Also it'd be the last nail in the coffin of a debate I've been having with a friend for a little over 3000 years where I'd come out on the winning side, so there's that too.

[Oh no, they are not similar at all.]
That is precisely my point. So many civilizations seem to believe the male form is somehow superior. The Aesir are not immune to this either. I could never understand why what is in my pants made any difference as to my abilities. I have often wondered if things would be better if that were not true.
[Loki likes to think that even if things did change and women had more power, or even were simply equal, that he would still prefer his male form, but he’s not actually sure that’s true. There is something quite pleasant to being in his female form, even if he doesn’t take advantage of it often.]
Well, I would like to see her try. I suspect she might have a tougher time with those more on an equal footing. I dare anyone to tell me what I can or cannot say or believe.
If I should ever make it out of here, I will endeavour to make it known across the realms and beyond that we are not myth. I wouldn’t mind seeing what we could get up to at full strength. I’m sure we could show a few rulers a thing or two.
Oh? Do tell me of this debate.

Sexism is a bit rubbish. Shame it's been around since pretty much the word 'go' too. I wonder if it'd be different if I'd tempted Adam to eat the apple instead of Eve?
You are very welcome to cross Her if that's your fancy, I won't stop you. Just gonna say, Lucifer, whatever his many, many, many issues, was no slouch and he still got dumped in the sulfur pools like the rest of us.
As for the debate, it comes down to matters of choice. Are Heaven or Hell humanity's only option? Does Free Will also open up other possibilities? That sort of thing. If it's not obvious already where my speculations lie, I'll just say I've never been much for binaries and leave it at that.

And I wonder if there is an alternate universe where that did, in fact, happen. Seems likely with all the people roaming around this place.
I have not met your Lucifer, so I cannot speak to that and seeing as I still fell to Odin it is not a given that I would win. I simply think I could give her a run for her money.
Though my own culture would have us believe that there is only Valhalla or Hel, much in the same vein, I like to believe there are other options. One thing I have learned in my long life is that no one is completely good, and no one is completely bad.
Though really, is spending eternity with a bunch of good two-shoes or epic warriors really a reward?
