I hope everyone made it out of the mall in one piece. That was creepy and a disgrace to shopping malls everywhere.

[She has some vague theories, but no way to reasonably test anything. Congratulations to the powers that be. Bulla's been put off of shopping, at least temporarily.]

Shopping malls are supposed to be a place where you buy necessities, and for retail therapy. They're not supposed to make you need therapy.

[She scoffs at that and flips her hair over her shoulder irritably.]

Rude. Anyway, if anyone's looking for a sparring partner, I'm up for that. Either with powers or without is fine with me. Or if someone here knows how to sew and is willing to teach, I'd love some lessons.

You could say that. Shopping is one of my favourite things to do, and I've got a lot of good memories associated with it. Going with friends, or a mom-daughter day where we spoil ourselves, or when my dad would make time to take me even though he'd rather be training.

And then this happens and I got to see the absolute worst person I've ever met.

I ain't been around all that long, but I'm startin' to feel like that's a pattern here.

I guess, but I never really had to pay for things in the first place. That's what parents are for.

Well, I suppose we should pick a place where we are less likely to damage anyone or anything. Perhaps the park? Or simply a parking lot, since I am told those are for cars and there seems to be none.

I have seen cars around here, but they're all missing their engines. Let's go for a parking lot. No one's going to walk around one of those for the nice view.

A parking lot it is. Perhaps the one near the Mall? If something goes wrong, I would not mind damaging that building.

Yes, those things with wheels on the bottom, windows to look through and seats inside. Like a carriage with no horses.

Normally I'd hate the idea of damaging a mall. This one's an exception. Mall parking lot it is.

Neither sound like a good mode of transportation to me, but I suppose some have to make due with what they’ve got.

What's your preferred mode of transportation, then? Personally I enjoy flying.

Flying is fine, certainly faster than most Midgardian modes of transport. Personally I prefer teleportation, though I can hardly manage much of that here.

I know someone who can teleport using his ki. Is that how you do it, or is it through some other means like technology or magic?

Typically my seidr is most closely related to what humans refer to as magic, but I admit I am not familiar with ki, so I suppose there could be a similarity there as well. Tell me, what precisely is the difference between ki and magic?

Ki is basically life force energy that comes from training the body and the mind. While some races have more ki naturally and learn how to use it faster than others, people who can do anything worthwhile with it are warriors/martial artists. I've never met a magic user from my world so I'm not sure of the exact differences. Being able to use either ki or magic is fairly rare.

Well, in my world, magic use does require training, and much of that has to do with ones ability to focus the mind, so they do have that in common. However, not everyone is capable. I was born with much of my ability. Training only allowed me to control what I could already naturally do.

Are you proficient with Ki then?

Yes. Being half human and half saiyan gave me an advantage. Saiyans naturally produce more ki and are better at controlling it than most, but saiyan/human hybrids seem to have the easiest time with it. Not that 5 is a very big sample size.

I am unfamiliar with saiyans. Would you ever be interested in tell me more about that part of you? Perhaps sometime we could get together and compare abilities? I do wonder how similar, or different, they actually are.

Sure, that sounds good. We can get some ice cream while we talk. I know which flavors have weird effects and which ones don't.

To summarize, saiyans are a warrior race from a planet that has gravity ten times what earth's gravity is. They look a lot like humans, but their eyes are black, their dark hair is naturally spiky, and they are born with tails that resemble a monkey or short haired cat's tail.

Well, that is a handy gift. I’m afraid after my first trip to the ice cream parlour, I did not think it a good idea to try more.

I see. That would make them feel much lighter while on earth. That is quite the advantage. The tail could be of use as well. Tell me, is it prehensile?

I learned through trial and error. I've got a huge appetite and a fast metabolism.

It is. Although both my father and his best friend lost theirs years ago in battle.

Typically I only think of a fast metabolism as handy in being able to eat what you want, but I’m sure it helped having the effects out of your system quickly.

Well, that must have been something that was difficult to overcome. Losing a limb like that can be quite devastating for some.
