I wrote "Scholar". But I could have written that I have none, it's been a long time since I did any writing or research like that.

I can't say I've met many scholars where I'm from. More engineers, or researchers—wouldn't say either of those are the same, though. ( Researchers might get close enough? ) What topics did you write on?

( She, too, has written a thing or two in her day. Her sect's doctrine, for example... )

[ While his title is "Scholar He", this is kind of a half-truth, since he never managed to earn it while he was alive, so he's never published anything substantial. ]

The Heavenly Court, ghosts who become demons, that sort of thing.

Theology's a dead subject in the City—if it ever was one. ( Capitalism is God, actually. Economics as theology. Kromer taps the side of her phone thoughtfully... ah. ) Your area of study give you any thoughts about the kind of place we're in now?

There are high level demons who could control a space of this size if they wanted to, though I'm not sure where they would get all the food. Perhaps if they made us hallucinate it they could feed us anything...

A god wouldn't have the face to pull a stunt like this, not even for a million merits. They'd reveal themselves immediately so they could get the credit.
