This is Junpei spinning slowly in an office chair while he holds the camera up, tilting as far back as he can without tipping the chair over. So it's going great.]

So, city-zens, [.....ahem,] I've got some miscellaneous questions for you.

First, time travel: real? Let me know. [......,] I mean, you know— Before you got here, that is. Like how experienced are you in the realm of quantum... quantum-y goodness? I just thought that maybe it would be real for somebody else by now, but I dunno... Let me know that one instead.

Second, are we all just, uh... hanging out now, I guess? Um, like— who's trying to clip through the weird fog and get out still? Anybody? I'm looking for group, or whatever you call it. We can do code names.

But Junpei, how is this a simulation? Well duh, why else would this place be like a city that doesn't know what a city is supposed to be like? And all the weird loading fog? C'mon! Buuuut Juuuunpei, are we all full of tubes and stuck in goo pods like in that movie?— [Ah, ahem, cough. He puts his hand down.] Maybe.

Or uh, whatever else is in the theory pile. Half the people I was messing around with about theories went and disappeared, soooo... Well, I'm gonna get serious cabin fever if I can't figure something oUT—

All right. Well, to your actual post, I don't really have anything new to add, unfortunately. I'm of the mind that this is probably attributed to an experiment still, but I don't know if I buy "simulation."

No? Why not? Experiment feels like a given by now, so it's the rest that's the real mystery...

How would a technological simulation adapt magic into here? Although maybe I don't understand it enough to disclaim the idea.

How would it... not adapt magic? I'm serious, you know I can't do any magic so I don't know what it needs to go off.

Usually, science and magic are very separate things. So if this was a simulation, how would it be able to accommodate the spells I use, exactly? Does it incorporate the magic, or is it merely doing what I think it should do? How would someone else know how its side-effects should feel?

If it's a simulation, it's gotta be the option for what you think it's supposed to do. Like with, uh, eating, I guess— if we're really in a simulation, we don't need to eat, but we're still feeling hungry.

A simulation is just a program, so... Whoever makes it just has to write in what magic is supposed to do. That's how I'd do it.

Okay, but then you have to consider how magic functions in each possible world. Not all of them function the same way. Or is this some kind of "the code will somehow adapt to all forms" thing?

Maybe all the code's adapting to us and that's why the rest of the city is so basic? I don't know. That could be why you guys don't have your whole magic power kit though, couldn't it? And why I'm still here instead of some other me who swapped in.

An adapting code does sound pretty advanced... and I definitely don't know enough about that sort of thing to dispute it.

All right. Well. I guess you got me there. Simulation: plausible.

To be honest, neither do I. I've got a friend who's better at computer stuff like this, but it's been this long without anybody I know back home showing up here, so...

The Termina Festival in my world took place over the course of months. Which wasn't as intense as everything here, but maybe they're working toward something big.

How many months are we talking? 'Cause we're coming up on a full six here, right? Should I start building a panic room?
