( the feed starts, and there sits a woman. the nook she'd found this time around is clearly another one of the cafes scattered about, quiet and without all the harsher lights of stark fluorescence. she's made herself quite comfortable from the looks of it, a teapot visible within the framing with a few unused cups overturned by it, as if she's expecting company. there's even has a platter of fruit, a small afterthought of one.
slices of peach, if one were so inclined as to squint.
some have met her already, some know her quite profoundly, but that matters not. she has a question, just as she always does, and she figures a face to the voice would be a little more reassuring than mere text, given what she has in mind. the crowd seems.. skittish. wary. she'd rather they not run too soon before she sates a curiosity.
her tea steeps within reach, and her chin rests on her knuckles as she waits; her voice akin to that of a dirge when she finally parts her lips to speak. )
Indulge me for but a moment.
( oh, she's well aware of the range of how this can be taken. it's quite alright. )
But what would you say is a moment of achievement for you? Big or small. You're free to use whatever criteria suits.
( ah. )
And if you'd rather not have it broadcasted, I'm not hard to find. I'd be pleased for company.

( as a woman used to it, she has no feelings about it either way. but if the flowers and their secrets are anything to go by, there's no such thing as privacy in this city to begin with. )
You fear they'd sharpen their knives with the knowledge they might harvest. You must have quite the story to tell.

You don't need to stay here for more than a day to know this place doesn't have the nicest intentions with us.
[ Besides being kidnapped, the city itself is intentionally trying to make them uneasy. Not to mention what he's learned from Alhaitham... if it's energy they want, then it's best not to reveal anything, regardless of what the kidnappers already know. Getting to know others, getting attached to them... it'd all be used against them in the end. ]
Hah. I have nothing to hide.

( not that she feels any one way about his understandable wariness, but it doesn't seem all that logical to her that someone who thinks they've nothing to hide would be particularly distrustful. unless, of course, he's simply the type to brook those he's come to quarrel with no quarter. regardless of its insignificance. )
If there's no lock to the tale, I'd be curious to hear yours.

[ Yes, he's just being antagonistic because he can be. ]
You're going to have to try harder if you want to know more. Ever heard of reciprocation? Where's your personal information, hm? How about you share something about yourself first?

nevertheless, she merely taps a nail thoughtfully on the tablecloth. it's not an unfair ask. )
Perhaps if you had a more specific question. I'm afraid yours is one too general for the likes of me. I could just as easily talk about my preference in tea preparations, but that risks your denial of it being worthy of your answer in turn.

Why don't you answer your own question, since that's what you're looking for from us. Shouldn't be too difficult, right?

Would you believe me if I said I don't have much for one?
( likely not, considering the earlier skepticism. so let her clarify just a little. )
Not ones I see as an accomplishment in the way that I ought to hold my chin high over. Pride is usually required for one to deem their success as such. I had duties, there were things expected of me, and while I enjoyed aspects of what I did - it was simply something that needed to be done. I performed until my first death, and after that, it was much of the same. Never-ending tasks and now obligations.
( that in itself is information, though. sort of. )
But if you ask me what others might consider an accomplishment, there might be a few I could think of.

Aren't you the responsible one. A model worker.
[ He wonders then, if she's looking for responses to answer a personal question of some sort. ]
Feeling generous enough to share those too?
no subject
There are few that would argue the truthfulness in that, these days.
( this one takes a little more thought. notably so. hm.. )
The one who put me at death's door is something of a named legend where I'm from. ( we're from, she should say. the woman in question is here and she knows this. ) She drew her last before I did.
( even if she ultimately fell, in the end. )
And now, yourself?

His first instinct is to answer that he has no achievements or accomplishments that he's proud of, because, really, there's nothing about his past worth being proud of. He's screwed up in so many ways and destroyed so many lives.
But the quiet tinkle of the golden feather hanging off his Vision reminds him, ah, there is one thing he's proud of, now. ]
In my world, a person can be granted power if they catch the eye of the gods. Usually, they're granted to those who have strong wills or ambition. I suppose you could say getting one is an achievement that I'm proud of.
