[ For a good while, all anyone's going to see is the cityscape of the second district. There's clear movement as the scene seems to move and shake with what seems to be the sounds of footsteps in the background. ]

Hello? Hi, my name is—oh no, the video is on backward, uh—

[ There is a small pause, and after much tinkering, the feed switches over to the front camera. Crisis adverted? On the screen is a teenage girl, looking barely legal with a strange hairstyle. She has on a pretty friendly smile, with all things considered, and doesn't seem entirely too distraught. ]

—there we go! Hello again, sorry for the trouble! My name is Usagi Tsukino and I'm new to the city. So far, I've found a place to live, I think, and I'm just trying to familiarize myself with the place so it's easier to navigate.

[ She looks pensive for a moment. ]

Or perhaps more information on the place? How do things work around here? Anything is fine. [ She pauses for a moment. ] Oh, maybe a place to get food? I haven't seen anywhere that resembles a restaurant where I am, but I'm not entirely sure.

Sorry for all the questions, and thank you for your time!

[ The video feed switches off, but it seems like she somehow didn't close the voice transmission along with the video. ]

Okay...where am I, ooooh, I could really go for a large banana split sundae right about now...where does a girl get some ice cream around here?

...wait, didn't I walk past that place earlier? Huh? Why is this still on? Oh no.....!

[ And the voice transmission cuts off here. ]

[ Well, it might very be the cold that gave her extra motivation to find herself a place to live, where there's heating, and warm bedding... ]

I think that might be one of my primary motivators...It wouldn't look good to be stranded by lack of direction alone...haha.

[ Well, she does bring up a good point, and plus, it's not like they're all purposefully stealing apartments, so maybe it's okay. ]

Yeah, exactly! I had the same thought! I think it will maybe do well to keep the apartments clean just in case, too, I'll do my best to be clean, and maybe even buy some cute things to decorate in case it needs even more personalization!

[ There will be plushies. If she can find any, that is. ]

Really?

[Altria mostly sounds fascinated at that, peering into the screen curiously.]

What sorts of decorations would you buy?

[As someone completely unfamiliar with the concept of decorating something for herself... this sounds very interesting.]

Yeah!! It's always a fun time when you decorate a new place!

[ Of course, she's puffing her chest out proudly. Her room was quite cute back in her own house! ]

I think I'd get some plushes, maybe some colourful blankets or something, maybe some common-use items like plates? Oh, oh, I know, cute cups! I love those cups that are shaped like animals, do you know those? They're super cute! Or bean bag cushions—I don't know, what do you think?

[Altria is engrossed by Usagi's rattling off of cute things to stock her room with, so much so that she's a little startled when Usagi suddenly addresses her.]

H-huh? Me?

[OH, UM...]

It... all sounds really cute! I haven't seen most of the things you're talking about before, but the other things I have and they sound really nice all together!

[ Wait what??? Never seen? Does Usagi need to take Altria out shopping??? For house decorations? ]

What, really? Never seen? Oh boy, you're missing out! But never fear! Usagi is here to save the day—

[ If she can find her way around the city, that is. ]

—once I figure out how to get to the mall or shopping centre, I need to take you out shopping so you can see all the cute things! And get all the cute things for your own apartment!

[ Hey, permission matters!! ]

Uh, I mean, if you want? Sorry, I got a little excited there...

[Usagi's a little bit like a whirlwind--but not in a bad way. Really, it's easy for Altria to get swept away in it a little, and so she's smiling and laughing when she responds:]

That sounds great! I would really enjoy going shopping with you, if you don't mind going with someone who's so unfamiliar with everything you were talking about.

[ At least now she knows she has Altria's permission, she's going all in! With a wink and
a thumbs-up, she gives the other blonde the biggest, toothiest grin. ]

By the time we finish this shopping trip, you're going to be a pro! We can even decorate your place, too! We can grab the things you like and make your apartment the cutest ever! We can even grab something to eat, and then we can have sleepovers...

It'll be so much fun!

[Oh... oh wow! This girl is so friendly and earnest... is this how friendship works? Is it really this easy?]

O-oh... right, of course! Sleepovers and cute things and... everything!

[She's hip! She's cool! She knows how girls go out and have fun and do things too...!! (She does not know.)]

J-just say the word, and I'll be ready!

[ She makes such fast friends, one might get whiplash. ]

Ah, sorry, I'm a little over-excited at times! Let me know if it's too much, okay? I don't want to overwhelm my friends...

[ She flashes Altria the toothiest grin. ] Once I get some food in me, we can go shopping—oh, unless you want to go together? I'm headed to the Welcome Diner to eat!

Oh, no, no need to apologize. I'm very excited!

[Maybe a little overwhelmed, but that's a normal state of being for her, so.]

I'd be happy to meet you there! I'll leave right away, okay?

[ She waves dramatically, clearly very ecstatic about spending time with friends! ]

Okay! I'll see you! I can't wait!

[ Usagi manages to switch off the video properly this time after some practice because it's embarrassing her for her to not know how to do that after so many tries. She squints at the map again and then makes her way to the Welcome Diner without much issue. Score one accomplishment for Usagi!

Is she late? Not sure, but she doesn't mind waiting if she's not—after all, she does tend to be late for a lot of things, including her school, senshi meetings, you name it, she's probably been late before. It's fine, it's not like they've set a time, as long as they get there with sufficient time to both eat and explore the malls and stores in the vicinity, she's fine.

She's snapped out of her thoughts when she hears footsteps and looks around. Is that her? Should she wave? And if it isn't, she can just explain herself—I thought you were someone else...sorry... it's worked for her in the past, right?

It's fine, she thinks. And she waves. ]

[After wandering its streets and spending enough time on the trains, Altria's gotten a bit more used to this place--so it isn't too difficult for her to find the Welcome Diner.

She steps in, peering around a little curiously, and, well? It's not hard to miss the girl with blonde pigtails not too different from Altria's own, waving enthusiastically.

So she waves back, coming closer with a smile.]

Hello! I'm glad we both made it okay.

[ Wow, it really is her! Well, at least she's got that one right, so there will be no apologies on her part! ]

Yeah! [ She pauses. ] Let's grab some food so we can have adequate energy to go shopping for cute things to decorate our apartments with! Do you have any recommendations or should we just go with whatever's on the menu?

[ She's about to address her properly, but...it seems like throughout their entire interaction, she's never thought to ask for the other girl's name. It's a little embarrassing... ]

Uh, I never got your name, and I sort of got really excited and forgot to ask.

[This girl is just as chipper and exuberant in person as she was over the device, huh...? It's kind of amazing, and Altria just kind of watches her with a blank smile despite herself.

This sort of energy... it's infectious and also overwhelming, but in kind of a nice way, she can't help but think.]

Oh--that's right! I'm Altria. Altria Caster. It's nice to meet you!

And I like the pancakes. With the powdered sugar on top. Have you ever had powdered sugar? It's so amazing...!

[ Hey, look, another friend acquired—she did always say that power comes in the number of friends you have, right? Was that the saying? Or was it strength in numbers?

Anyway! She beams, clearly excited. ] Hehe, now that I have your name, we're going to be very good friends!

[ Speaking of friends—friends should obviously share a meal together and the way Altria describes the pancakes causes her blood pumping. She's ready for the sugar intake, she's ready. It's been too long since she's had anything sweet, so at the mention, she nearly drools. ]

Pancake with powdered sugar? That sounds heavenly...we need to get that, right now! I've had powdered sugar before, but I'm curious whether it tastes the same here...also, have you tried it with fresh fruit and maple syrup?

[Maple syrup? Fresh fruit on top? That all sounds incredible, and she perks up immediately at the thought.]

I haven't! I haven't tried it that way yet at all!

I really want to now, though...!

[... Mm, but would it be too much to get both kinds...?]

Oh, but if you want to get the powdered sugar kind, I can try the other kind later!

[She's still unclear, honestly, on exactly how much food humans might need or not need, and doesn't want to order too much.]

[ Well, there's a first for everything! Time to introduce Altria to all kinds of sweets! ]

Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get both and we can share— [ A pause. ] —if you don't mind! And maybe for the fun of it, we can order more sweets to add so that we can try all sorts of dishes! I'm sure it will be fine—it's not like desserts take up much room in the stomach anyway!

[ That is entirely not true, but in Usagi's case....her capacity for sweets and foods alike is...slightly bigger than her size suggests. There is no such thing as ordering too much in her dictionary. ]

Plus, we don't have to stick to just sweets, we can also try some more savoury dishes too!

[ Usagi, your food monster is showing... ]

[USAGI... Altria tilts her head at that, and while she could absolutely go for trying every last thing, she did recently just get scolded for trying to take too many snacks... so with that one her mind, she rubs the back of her neck sheepishly and:]

Um--let's get both and share, like you said! And then... maybe we can come back another time and try the others too?

It could be something to look forward to!

[ Usagi stares at Altria. She does suppose her overexcitement about food is a little jarring at first. But at the same time, maybe it's something she needs to work on...either way! She's not about to make her new friend uncomfortable. ]

That sounds good! [ Meanwhile, what Altria suggested—coming back to try the other items on the menu sounds like an amazing plan, so it gets the seal of approval from Usagi! ] That sounds like a plan! We can spread out all the items over the course of a few days and then we can decide which ones' are our favourite!

[ Usagi's never going to say no to food and outings with her newfound friend is something she also won't say no to, so it's a thumbs-up from her! ]

That... sounds really, really great!

[She's never had a standing food date like this with a friend! This is so exciting...]

It isn't too far from where you're staying, right?

Okay! Then it's set! We'll have to plan our next outing, right? Well, maybe after we have some food, first.

[ Usagi stops for a moment and considers Altria's comment on living situation, and then decides that it's fine—if she's hanging out with friends and getting food along with that, then she's willing to travel and walk a while. Plus, it's not like they have to keep to one location. ]

Also, don't worry about it! As long as I'm spending time with friends and eating good food, no place is too far for me! Plus, we can always try other places that are closer to the both of us. I haven't done much exploring the different food places so far, but I hope to be able to do that soon! Maybe we can even go on a food tour, you know, just of the city itself?

[ The things she will do for food. ] I mean, if you'd like?

Definitely!

[That response comes immediately and enthusiastically.

Then, a moment later, she has to pause and consider that. Wait. She should make sure she knows what she's signing up for, shouldn't she...?]

Um, is a food tour like... going around and trying foods from all sorts of different spots?

Yeah, that's right!

[ Usagi herself hasn't exactly been to any official food tours in her life, but she figures it's the same regardless of where the location is. There are a few places she has her eyes on already, purely from interactions with others along with the few that she noticed on her apartment hunt, but she's pretty there are more that the city has to offer and she can't wait. ]

We can mark down all the places somewhere, maybe we can keep a notebook of all the places, and then create a catalogue! [ Speaking of which... ] What kind of food is your favourite, Altria? You know, generally speaking?
