[ Not long after getting to the Welcome Diner and gathering his thoughts, he flips on the device to begin what will surely be one of the hardest things he's ever had to do. He hasn't bothered to clean himself up much but, with Daniel's help, he probably doesn't look like a serial killer anymore. Still, it's obvious the man has been through hell. ]
My name is Ethan Chandler. I-- [ He swallows, then begins again. ]
Last night, something wicked prowled through the streets and attacked several residents. It was me. I don't look as I did last evening and, despite what I said, I can't recall who I encountered or what events took place. I change, you see, when the moon is full. I can't control myself; God knows I've tried.
[ He lets out a sharp exhale, grimacing when it aggravates some of his injuries, but powers through. ]
Ever since my arrival, I've done what I could to make sure I couldn't hurt anyone, taken precautionary measures to restrain myself so this wouldn't happen. But it did. Something happened last night, and I made a mistake that put people here in harm's way. The blame rests entirely upon my shoulders and mine alone.
I'm not deserving of your forgiveness, but I'll ask for it. If you encountered the wolf last evening, please, reach out to me here. The phones are impersonal and I would prefer to extend my apology in person, to look you in the eye when I give it.
[ Now, to another pressing matter: ]
Mr. Gray and Miss Ives were present before and after what happened. I can't contact either one of them. I've tried.

[Does he sound distracted? He might be. Taptaptap sounds from his phone.]
She strikes me as someone who keeps her own schedule. Probably wouldn't like it if people started panicking or anything.
[Right, still no answer. Time to resort to desperate measures.]
...Have you considered horse tranquilizers? Or maybe having a sizable meal before the inevitable transformation? Animals tend to be pretty sluggish after they've eaten their fill. Might help with the unstoppable aggression.

[ Great minds think alike but for different reasons, as he doesn't know they're dating yet, he already sent Dream a message. He helped Vanessa out with her nightmares, so maybe he could help him find her. ]
If she didn't want me to panic, she wouldn't have disappeared without a trace. [ In short: he is going to panic and she can be irritated with him later. It's worth it if she's found. ]
Would you want to eat a large meal before the slaughter? [ Don't answer that, Mr. Demon! ] There's a doctor here who offered an alternative.

We don't even know if she disappeared. If you're really worried, we can check her usual haunts. Graveyard is one. If you know some others, this'll go faster between the two of us.
And I wouldn't really know. Not generally inclined to slaughtering things.

I woke up in the middle of the graveyard this morning, she wasn't there. The first thing that comes to my mind is the garden where the fair used to be. Maybe the greenhouse.
[ His mind is racing; he knows he's missing places, but he'll search through each district if he has to. He just needs a moment to collect himself. ]
The bookstore.
[ And he's not feeling inclined to reveal that during his usual attacks, he tends to eat people whether he eats ahead of time or not. Vanessa is more important right now. ]
