Yes, I'm all right. We heal very quickly, even with our powers dampened here. You can see for yourself.
( He pulls the collar of his loose black button-up shirt open wider to show a series of slashes on his shoulder moving diagonally downward across his chest. It looks like it's been healing for several days, new and pink and tender around the edges. )
This is the worst of it, and it's much better than it was last night. I'm just sorry to hear that others didn't fare so well.
( He pauses, frowning tightly, his expression more troubled. )
I'm shocked, more than anything.

Do you know him?

Yes, Monsieur Chandler— Ethan, he asked me to call him Ethan... ( Louis' voice is soft and a little shell-shocked. ) I may not know him very well, but I've enjoyed his company, and I thought highly of him. I had no idea he was struggling with something so dangerous.
( And he doesn't know what to think about it, because Louis himself has killed thousands of people, so surely it's hypocritical of him to feel betrayed and disappointed. It's just that it doesn't make sense. There must be some reason why it happened, he keeps thinking; Ethan isn't an irresponsible man, and Louis knows how he's tormented by guilt. He wouldn't treat this so lightly. But he had. )

Me neither. And I can't figure how he kept it quiet before this. We've had other full moons. Maybe the City played another of its tricks, or something, but ... I don't know.

[ But then, she knows well enough how little that can mean. ]
I don't know. God, I don't know. How utterly fucked.
I guess we've got a month to figure it out, at least.

If nothing else, at least it's predictable. We all know when to expect a full moon...
( God. What is he saying. )
This may sound strange coming from a vampire, but I was certain that werewolves were pure fiction.

Yeah. Yeah, well, may sound strange from an exorcist, but this is a new one for me too.
[ Don't tell Hob. She's still clinging to that "I'm a professional" line. ]

I can't imagine how stressful this would be if we were normal.

No, I'm exhausted, is what I am. [ And smarting over Hob, but that's not Louis' problem. ] S'pose both of us ought to rest. Try not to think too hard.
[ Haha, funny joke, eh? ]

I shall do my best. You, I think, ought to silence your phone and get a few hours of uninterrupted sleep. It's what I would do.
But please tell us if there's any way that we can help. ( "We" meaning himself and Lestat, of course. He clarifies: ) With the wolf, or with something as simple as bringing you a hot meal.

Yeah. Cheers, Louis. Don't worry about me. I always land on my feet.
[ In this case, though, as she hangs up, she is going to land back on her face in bed. ]
