Where I'm from there are different religions that follow different deities - some religions are monotheistic, some polytheistic. People who believe attend their services and keep their practices. There's no proof that any actual deity or deities exist - it's a rather heated topic of debate.

although if i'm being honest that's kind of just bragging and unproductive. the guy i met called himself 'The Maker' and that doesn't necessarily mean even he thinks he's god. and he definitely wasnt, he was just a cyborg who could use the force. the force is kind of god though.

Assuming I understand you correctly— a god is a being generally considered superior to humans in some way, often while being worshiped by at least some humans. Many believe in a single god, usually as the creator of the universe.
