Just your average lived experiences really.
Humankind's belief in god(s) in an era without science is understandable. The divine becomes a way to explain the inexplicable. Humankind's continued belief despite scientific advancement begs the question of what need does the existence of a divine creator fulfil that humankind clearly craves?

Whether there is life after death is perhaps the biggest motivator, at least from my experience. Many are discomfited by the idea that there may be nothingness after a comparatively short time alive. We have no real confirmation of what comes after death- scientifically, anyway.

In my experience, sometimes it's best to just adjust to the fact that you can't know everything and sometimes the joy is in the unknown.
