What is your understanding of God? Or experience with, if you prefer to answer that.

Yes, it is much the same for me. I'm curious though, about your thoughts on the matter?

To be honest, I haven't thought about it in years. I suppose I would prefer to believe no such beings exist because the alternative would imply they're quite cruel.

I can't argue with that. Though I wonder if it's better to acknowledge a cruel or apathetic god than to ignore it?

I suppose it depends if you're more comfortable accepting that life is full of random happenstance or if you're more comfortable with the idea that beings you can't see, control, or really speak to are acting maliciously against you, personally or not.

A pause, then a second message comes in.

An apathetic god would be similar enough to life being full of random happenstance, I think.

I suppose which people prefer would depend on the person. Taking comfort in someone to blame, or taking comfort in the randomness.

Absolutely. I guess that it is easier for me to take comfort in randomness or apathy because there is enough senseless cruelty in Night City without the addition of a malicious deity on top of it all.

I was raised to believe God was omniscient and omnipotent, a loving figure so long as you believed in Him. I stopped believing in that a long time ago.

I'm sorry for whatever caused that falling out. Losing faith is rarely a pretty process.
