What is your understanding of God? Or experience with, if you prefer to answer that.

No problem. Kinda glad I didn't have to dig back in my brain for my Church days to dig in to scripture crap if I'm honest.

If your upbringing was anything like mine, we've both had enough to last a lifetime.

I dunno, they weren't overly rough with me or anything, I just didn't understand why I needed to go from stealing to begging or how it was any different when everyone was some level of poor if you get my drift.

I haven't done much to make them proud since I left, anyway, so.

It makes more sense when you look at it as a moral doctrine, rather than any divine history- at least in my opinion. The Catholic god caring whether you take or ask makes more sense when you consider the consequences of stealing in a social sense, rather than biblical punishment for the crime.

Regardless of belief, you have yourself to answer to in this life, first and foremost. [ He won't ask if Duo is proud, that's not his business. ]

It makes more sense if it isn’t a situation of balancing behaving morally or starving to death.

I can tell you that when your stomach is so empty it feels like it’s gonna eat itself, you don’t care much about social repercussions.

I can't imagine. [ He can, actually, but certainly not in the same capacity as Duo's experience- nor something he is willing to explain. ]
