What is your understanding of God? Or experience with, if you prefer to answer that.

He's something that doesn't exist.

Admittedly that is an opinion I have heard far less here than I expected.

I'm not that surprised. Faith in things greater than yourself exists in every culture.

That is my experience as well, though I'm used to a greater deal of atheism— or at least agnosticism.

May I ask why you do not believe?

A man taught me to believe in God.

But he had no faith himself. "God" meant nothing to him. Everything we did in "God's name" was only serving that man's agenda.

An all-too-common tale. Regrettable that that was your experience, regardless.

Another man declared himself God, in order to preserve his own ego. He believed his only options were to be humanity's servant or its messiah.

He couldn't accept just living as equals.
