What is your understanding of God? Or experience with, if you prefer to answer that.

That depends entirely on which god, and who you ask.

'The' God as believed in by many religions where I am from is taught to be loving and just, but not everyone follows those teachings.

I should point out that gods in my world - even the one god worshiped by many - are not necessarily real. They are more mythical figures. While plenty believe, proof has never been found.

Although it seems others here in this city have different experiences with gods, so perhaps that's not entirely out of your reach.

That depends on your fairy tales, I suppose, but I have heard the analogy to describe God before.

A POPULAR TALE IS OF THE STARS WHO GRANT THE WISHES OF THOSE WHO LOOK UPON THEM
BUT EACH DISTRICT HAS THEIR OWN I AM CERTAIN!!!
THEY ARE ALL VERY UNIQUE PLACES, FROM WHAT I HAVE TRAVERSED WITH MY COMPANIONS

I was taught to believe in a God who created the universe. All-knowing, all-loving, all-powerful. Seeing the reality of the world, the pain and suffering visited on even the most innocent and devout children, I could no longer understand belief of that kind of God.

[ He probably should have expected it, really, but he's getting asked this a lot. It's a little much to just... put out there! ]
