Okay. Hopefully me putting IMPORTANT at the top helps denote this as actually something I personally think is important. Got the idea from username dynamight, so credit goes to them!

But serious talk: this is an experiment. Or it's an Abnormality, maybe? An enclosure either way. Either this city itself wants us here because it's lonely and it wants people around, because what's the point of a city without people in it right?? Or the scientists outside want us in so they can shake us up in this little jar and write down their results. Not sure what end goal there, we'll find out soon enough.

If anyone has any proof or any other theories, please feel free to discuss. I'm open to ideas. And I know figuring out what this place feels pointless, but if we can aim towards figuring out the what, then we'll be able to figure out the how soon enough, right?

And has anyone gotten any useful information in general? I've been nosing around, but all I get is redacted snippets with no actual details to work with. Which cycles back around to my two theories above, I guess; either we really are the first ones to get sucked into this Abnormality and it's just been made out of several lonely people wanting a better life and world, or it's artificially made in which case there's not going to be any public figures or history to learn about.

Anyway.

I just think that we should all check in and talk about anything we've learned. Don't feel like you have to talk to me only, either. Talk amongst yourselves. Information should be freely shared so we can get out faster.

Also if you saw me at the party, hi, I'm the guy with the bug arm, that's me, if you didn't know. Yes it's disgusting. Yes, I hate it too. No, the food or water or air in this place isn't the reason I have the bug arm. I've had it for twenty years or so now.

Okay that's it.

[ emil is mainly lurking because that is the thing he does, but the general tone of the message makes him pause.

like... he gets it. this is less for the mingling and very directly a more personal thing (which he considers equally NOTICE: IMPORTANT), so— ]

Do you want to look through things together? In person.
Last time you brought snacks, so I thought...
I could, this time.

[ team! team! team! ]

[ well. emil does technically have old information that he hid so maybe that counts as new. but also maybe not the best thing to share when gregor's two steps away from a nervous breakdown. hm.

sounds like a problem for future emil, ]

I... think they're just worried. Maybe.
I'm a little envious that some people don't seem as nervous about everything.

[ positive framing for being called crazy! but sinclair also doesn't see how someone can't be here, because this is wild! even if this flavor of comfortable no worries living is a blast to the past.

which is exactly why it's the worst. zooming away from thinking about that! ]

A-Anyway... a trip to the store sounds good.
I ate the last of Don Quixote's gummy worms, so I should probably replace them.
I can meet you.

[ soon meaning no time at all but it's good to let gregor Know, you know, ]

Thank you for saving me.
I'll be there as quick as I can.

[ wild that gregor thinks emil "overly conscious of everything, oh, the anxiety" sinclair would keep him waiting. sinclair's already moving to leave shortly after he sent that text, after making notes on anything else they might need, and making sure don doesn't jump to the conclusion he got kidnapped or something,

there's no immediate answer to gregor's gummy worm question. but it does come — belatedly, but not late, when sinclair makes himself known with a quick walk and a wave with one hand, the other cradling something lightly at chest level. ]

S-sorry if you were waiting, Mister Gregor. I was looking for something.

[ and this is where he reveals what's in his other hand. it's.............

taaaaaaa-daaaaa. two (2) gummy bears. the worms may be gone, but the bears are not. they are decidedly more friend-shaped, and (in his expert opinion) more delicious. ]

I thought this was a better answer to your gummy worm question... Have you had these before?

[ oh... gregor..... a nice bugncle, even while he's two steps away from a mental breakdown just like the rest of them fr.

with a tiny smile at that, sinclair picks one of the gummy bears — red — pinching its body softly between two fingers to offer it to gregor. ]

Before we start our emergency snack run... [ serious, totally serious, the sugar hit is serious ] I brought this one for you to try, since you asked what the worms tasted like. They— kind of taste the same, but with more flavor? Don Quixote actually prefers these too.

[ the refined candy palette. ]
