That being said, there are some basic resources I have had difficulty procuring. I'm not sure if they are simply absent from this world or if I am - ah - what is the colourful turn of phrase? Barking at the wrong tree?
Something like that.
If anyone can point me to anything on this list, this humble one would be greatly in their debt.
This one has also been experimenting with the fashions of this world. Though my robes are comfortable, there is no need to make do with a single set of clothes when there are so many options. Would those who come from worlds contemporary to this one kindly offer their opinions about whether or not he has the gist of your attire? It is less modest than what I am personally used to, but not wholly different from the style of garments common throughout the demon realm.

They do have many different machines here. Perhaps they do not require tools for cultivation?
[Not everyone dedicates themselves to cultivating. The city is so big, he finds it strange that no one seems connected at all, but it's really a different world. Maybe the nobles here have found an alternative. What Lan Xichen does pick up on is how knowledgeable Binghe is about domestic needs. So he does have a cute side!]
Liu-gongzi may laugh at my question, but I will not withdraw it. I would like to know more about the customs of both immortals and demons. I imagine that living together must have improved your knowledge a great deal.
[Courtship rituals indeed! He won't be scared off by this man! He can handle talk about demons!]

[Binghe takes a quick video of the little robo-vacuum in action.]
Damn. It chooses now to have one of its little moments of confusion. No matter, it is usually quite a clever little thing, and is good at keeping up with the dust. It struggles with corners, but this humble one is trying to teach it.
[He may be struggling with the concept that not all machines have the same mental capacity as Connor. If that were the case, that abomination to cooking and his arch nemesis (aka the microwave) would have surely been cowed by his truly creative threats by now.]
I am not laughing, but asking sincerely. Where would the kindly gentleman like to begin? Asking so broad of a question as just 'customs' - one may as well ask a bird to tell them about the sky.

Well, it might just be shy.
[He definitely doesn't understand any of it, but watching the video does convince him that the roomba seems to have some autonomy. It will take some work to explain to simple Lan Xichen how programming works, so at the moment he takes everything at face value. Including Luo Binghe. When he's told the other is sincere, he does pause, but then:]
A world where humans, immortals, and demons live together must mean we have something in common. That's... different from what I was told, so I wish to hear more. Do immortals and demons have the same daily rituals? They must all be different. Are there special rituals for demons that progress their abilities too? I suppose they wouldn't use something like solitary meditation or cultivation like humans, but they must have common practices that most civilians know.

[The less said about what Binghe does with the laundry, the better.]
- and then simply vacuum the spaces it hasn't gotten to yet.
Ah - that is a good place to start. The differences are a bit like encountering another culture. They may seem, at first, deeply irreconcilable, but there are often more similarities than you'd think. A bit like here, no?
Demons are naturally inclined to great spiritual power. The weakest demon will always be miles ahead of the weakest cultivator, but because demons age slowly, they are much fewer in number than human mortals. Special rituals aren't really needed for the average demon, but those of great rank such as the Demon Saints and Saintesses, the Succubus Tribes, or the Northern Lord all have their customs of furthering their own power.
Saints and Saintesses have rituals unique to their bloodline, but it often involves trials by combat or great feats of prowess. The Northern Lord receives the accumulated power of past generations of lords when they're ready to ascend the throne. The Succubi, I'm sure, are self-explanatory.
Those that have achieved true apotheosis are a bit beyond me. They're a reclusive lot, even with the merging of the realms, and it's rare to recognize one if they don't want to be recognized. My only encounter with one that I knew of was when I was about 19 or so and in a bit of a bind - the good lady was kind enough to help. It was a pleasant enough meeting, though I will spare you the details.
But there are plenty of cultivators who have reached a point where age and illness do not touch them, though cultivation sects are much smaller these days with the fall of Cang Qiong Mountain.

[He's not going to be any better with laundry, but cleaning is familiar enough. And there's something cute in the way Luo Binghe describes his interactions.]
I see... Was that your sect? It seems the place you have lived is very different from the one I knew. A place where demons and immortals live alongside humans must be difficult for them. But it sounds like a great place as well. Somewhat like this one. If this place can teach us to get along as well as you and Shen-gongzi, then I don't mind coming this far from home. After all, you seem to understand many people quite well.

Cang Qiong was my sect and I was a disciple of the second peak, Qing Jing, yes.
The emperor's rule is a chaotic one. Undoubtedly things will find a new equilibrium, but people are suffering now with the perpetual conflict. Still, you can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs I suppose.
People here get along significantly better. I've observed some weak points where one can potentially apply pressure to rend loyalties, but most are far enough removed from each other's problems that I can't see any major conflicts breaking out within the foreseeable future. That being said, how much our captivity may draw us together into a unified force is also questionable - ideas of the nature of this place differ enough that we will likely see opposing factions forming over time.

[If they existed at all, that is.]
So then you and Shen-laogongzi belonged to a great noble sect. That explains your talents. I apologize if my questions are uncomfortable. I do not wish to remind you of anything difficult. You just seem quite adept, so I was curious.
I hope that wherever we are from we can still get along as well as you say. I worry that perhaps sometimes we are too different to fully understand each other, but hopefully that is an obstacle that can be overcome with good intentions.
