The seventh day of the seventh month already. I didn't think we would be in this city for quite this long, but I guess it's also a surprise that we're here to begin with...
Does anyone else celebrate Tanabata? It might be nice to hang up some wishes. If only to do something new around here.
[You better believe Kamui has already tried everything else.]
Additionally, has anyone seen a good wish tree candidate around? [He's pretty sure they're out of luck on the bamboo front...] It needs a decent amount of boughs. There are a lot of people here.

A shame. I loved taking my girls to the festival.
It's a bit hard to be in the spirit, considering the circumstances...
[ well, he wouldn't have been able to take them this year anyway. ]

Please keep me appraised of a location, should you decide on one. Though I've been hard pressed to even find any yukata around here...

We could probably use more than one tree?

I think so too. Very easy, if we go with the park plan someone else suggested.

[ like a crashed car wrapped around a tree. ]
The graveyard might be your best bet.

[kamui what the FUCK does that mean.]
Don't you think the graveyard is a little bleak for a festival?

[The truth is, he's only keeping track because he's fresh out of leads: the least he can do is remember how long they've been here.]
The park's looking like the most popular option. Do you know if there are any shops with paper and ribbons? Maybe something left over from that party?

[He needs to stop forgetting that Kim isn't from an Earth with a Japan-- or an Asia...]
It's got an even wider reach than that, actually. While we celebrate Tanabata-- or the Star Festival-- in Japan, it originated from another country's even older festival, more than a thousand years ago.
Would you like to hear the legend?

celebrating now would be earlier than i'm used to as well, but there truly is nothing else to do ... so why not?

If it stays this dull, we can even celebrate twice.
For now, it looks like we're settled on the park, so you can at least count on that.

[He hasn't had much to wish for, since that night.]
how would you even cut down a tree in a place like this
[As far as he knows, there have not been any secret caches of weapons discovered of late.]

Or sometimes a different day, depending on the calendar your area follows...
