oh yeah heads up
ive heard from certain people who committed this themselves and
apparently if you kill someone here
you get your memories wiped of the incident altogether
not sure why they'd go out of their way to do that here but they do this sort of thing where im from all the time so im very used to seeing it
probably can't say the same for other people from other worlds so you guys have to educate me on that

so uhh
im not saying you should or shouldn't kill altogether
im not your mom
but just keep that in mind the next time you got some kinda murderous urge or something
the reason why im anonymous right now is bc i don't wanna reveal who did that in the first place
it might lead to some awkward icebreakers on their part
also i wouldn't lie about something like this if anyone's wondering bc i got no time to waste on leading people on

but this is probably the worst thing any newcomer would wanna see, huh
whoops
well... welcome to this city, i guess

Taking justice into your own hands? Careful, RK800, that one's definitely a slippery slope.

( says literally the woman who does this. anyway. )

This city does well enough with policing itself without a secondary force. If you break something, you wake up handcuffed to something. If you harass someone, you wake up handcuffed to someone else. If you kill someone, apparently you forget that you did so. Maybe it's to keep people safe from the trauma of taking a life, particularly if they did it in self-defense, or in a fit of rage. Some people are pretty temperamental, you know. Doing things, saying things, they never ordinarily would, when they're under duress.

Tell me where I said that. I suggested starting a law enforcement agency, not that I was personally going to hunt down the killer and this informant.

[He could. But he's not.]

That's what we've seen so far. Are you content to leave "justice" in the hands of whoever brought us here?

Not particularly, but I'm not fond of leaving it in the hands of complete strangers, either.
Our multitudes of experience have the potential to be as harmful as they do helpful.
One person's morals--one world's morals--might not align with another.
And one more thing...
Do you think everyone would agree to comply to a police force, or to whatever laws were created?
What would you (a general "you") do to those who didn't comply?

I concede your points, but I wasn't volunteering to be the police force, judge, jury, and executioner. If a law enforcement agency were to be created, it would have to be something that was discussed and agreed upon, with laws based on the standards of the worlds represented here, and punishments meted out similarly. Someone suggested more of a neighborhood watch type of organization, and I personally find that an acceptable alternative to a police force. It might even provide a sense of community that would keep serious incidents like this from happening again.
