No festivals.
No fireworks.
No tests of courage.
What a terrible way to spend the summer in a new place. I might die from boredom!
(And yet, it sounds like he's having fun. Don't worry. He'll be fine.)
Why don't we share some tales of the strange and unknown? If we tell enough stories, something interesting might appear~
Let's see... The set up isn't quite right but a hundred stories will probably do.

[ No spirits in the plants or buildings or objects that surround them. No animals for him to talk to. It's lonely from his perspective. He's made barriers similar to the city but never so large. ]
Shadows? What kind of shadows?
no subject
(Just shadows. He couldn't tell this person anything special about them.)

(Behind the pins. He means behind the pins.)

[ He holds the note out thoughtfully, maybe giving the idea more serious consideration than most people would if they heard that kind of story. It should be easy to brush off shadowy figures, but then they are all in a completely different world through strange means. ]
Did they seem sentient? Could it have been the lighting?

Maybe.
(You can practically hear him shrugging his shoulders as he answers.)
I admit, my eyes are quite old! (H e h.) And I'm unused to the lighting here.
(Even the citadel with all of its modern conveniences didn't have the same constant fluorescent glow everywhere. The light was warmer and softer on the eyes.)

[If he couldn't confirm it with one look, then why not take another? For Seimei, this is just a fun excuse to do more investigating and gather people together for more information.]
If there are ghosts, maybe they'll want to hear some of your stories. We could visit the bowling alley at night and try to spot them.
[He's taking this very seriously, trust him.]
And I can lend you some extra eyes.
