[ a flat voice can be heard, calm and quiet despite the current situation. oda clears his throat, and continues with a sigh. ]

I figured I would introduce myself, since it seems I won't be going anywhere anytime soon. My name is Oda Sakunosuke. In my world I worked as a detective, so I guess if anyone needs something like that, I can give it a shot.

[ he doesn't think he's very good at it, perhaps third-rate at best. but it's good to pool your resources together, right? collaborating in times of need or something like that. ]

I'd like to know what others did before coming here, and if you're still doing something related to it. Also, what's your favorite food? Mine's spicy curry.

It's just a lousy attempt at an ice breaker, so don't think about it too hard. [ he sighs. it's not like he's the best with people. ] You don't have to answer if you don't want to, or you can make something up if you want.

No, it is quite alright. There's little harm in answering something that can help lessen the tension within this world.

I have always enjoyed the fruitcake within the castle in my world, but I suppose telling you that much may begin answering your first question, too.

Ah... it does, doesn't it?

[ it does, doesn't it? oda has an idea that she must be royalty, but maybe the manner of speech doesn't really match with his idea of how they would be. he does, however, find it slightly ironic that someone as common as himself would be talking to a possible nobility. ]

Do you miss it? How different is life here for you?

It is not my duties that I miss, but my home.

( In general, Zelda was someone who took an interest in things outside of being royalty, or someone born into the destiny she had been given. )

Life here is vastly different, but perhaps not for reasons that you may be expecting. This world is... unique compared to Hyrule.

What of yourself? Is this place similar to your home?

[odasaku]

I've only been here for a bit, so I can't give a detailed opinion.

[ there's a pause on the message, as oda thinks. certainly enough, it's got its similarities. it's a city, similar to yokohama, but yokohama would never be this vacant. it would absolutely not be a place where he would be out and about without his weapons either, nor would he expect things to be given for free.

this is certainly a city, but it's nothing like any city that he's lived in. ]

It's similar, but in an off way. Like a strange reflection.

[luminously]

Is it because of the lack of people in this city?

( There are so few people here, she can't help but think of that as the difference. Admittedly, the idea of a world similar to this one is intriguing... It's something she'd like to ask him more about. )

[odasaku]

Yeah, partially that. It's odd seeing a city without its population. It feels almost like a ghost town.

[ he sighs. ]

On top of that, I don't think I've met the first person to say that they are from this city. But I could be wrong.

[luminously]

No... I do not believe you are wrong. I have yet to speak to anyone who might be a native in this world.

( Her expression changes then, eyes downcast and frowning heavily. )

It is almost as if this world is a blank page. Despite all my searching, I have yet to find any recorded history.

[ something about that resonates within oda, as if the words themselves were a sort of key for him. in his mind, it could not be described in any better way. ]

Yeah, I think that's probably the best way to put it. A blank page can't be filled without people to write or draw in it. Perhaps that's our job here: to fill the page in.

Our job... But, for what purpose? Surely, there must be a way to do so without taking so many others from their home.

( Perhaps this was a new world altogether. Or -- maybe it was in danger somehow. It's difficult to really even guess right now. )
