Is this thing working? I think it is.

[ a flat voice can be heard, calm and quiet despite the current situation. oda clears his throat, and continues with a sigh. ]

I figured I would introduce myself, since it seems I won't be going anywhere anytime soon. My name is Oda Sakunosuke. In my world I worked as a detective, so I guess if anyone needs something like that, I can give it a shot.

[ he doesn't think he's very good at it, perhaps third-rate at best. but it's good to pool your resources together, right? collaborating in times of need or something like that. ]

I'd like to know what others did before coming here, and if you're still doing something related to it. Also, what's your favorite food? Mine's spicy curry.

[ don't judge, he said favorite food ]

In some sense of the word, yes. Many of the troops patrol and keep the peace in the city, but we also protect Belobog from those who wish to invade its borders.

It's not meant for everyone, but everyone sees the glory and honor in dying for the city.

[ he'd agree with that sentiment if he were speaking about his men's lives, that he'd rather have them survive and live their own lives with their families and loved ones than spend wasting away in the harsh borders of belobog or dying at the hands of a hostile invader.

but that might be too arrogant, speaking on behalf of a person who wants to serve his own city.

We were. We still are.

My world was once invaded by an army determined to destroy all forms of life on it and even now, with my city as the planet's last bastion of mankind, they continue to raid and swarm our borders.

[ it's okay, he doesn't expect any kind of sympathy. he's just ... answering a question, lol. ]

No, it doesn't. All you can do is trust that those you've left behind are capable of looking after themselves.
