Different worlds? Okay. Still, I gotta see what I'm working with here since the last time I was in a place with people from whatever universe was at 1 AM at the coffee shop and everyone had the grand idea to suddenly order Neapolitan frappuccinos. So here's how I'm going to narrow down and categorize all of you for my sake.
First off, how do you pronounce GIF? With a 'g' or a 'j'
Answer carefully 😉😉😉
(and if you don't get it, don't worry about it, you just get sorted into the other category)

[Her "strange logic" that is. That said, she does have a reason that makes some vague sense.]
For me, I think something like "gif" is a lot more vague and it helps narrow down the people who know what I'm talking about a lot more. The argument about how to pronounce is well known to anyone who uses their devices a lot.
That and I thought it was just funny.

[Of which she seems full to bursting: absurdities. He was being nice. (Footage not found.)]
By your standard. Is there not a possibility that a "gif" does not exist somewhere, and yet the world is advanced all the same? Perhaps more than yours.
no subject
Remind me though, to show you some gifs later down the line.
[poor weir]
How're you settling in? Still paranoid?
no subject
[Anyway. What a silly question.]
And you're not? [Paranoid.] We've not been here long at all, and if your unease has subsided so soon, then that says far more about you than it does me.

[She's just kind of bad at it unless it affects her directly. Like a blunt hit to the face.]
Wait and see isn't the worst plan of action is it?
no subject
[Then again, his investment in how she handles this is low at best, despite everything.]
Wait, see, and prepare would be a better one, don't you agree?
no subject
[As far as she knows anyway. It is a very new situation but because the environment is close to what she's used to it doesn't feel real yet, like the possibility of never going home hasn't set in.]
Are you still grabbing medicine off shelves?
no subject
[She should be collecting resources if she hasn’t already. That said-]
Not today. Already collected enough, though I don’t know what to make off most of it still. You saw those jarred… substances. Think I’d rather treat a few as a last resort.
no subject
[She doesn't sound all that hurried but she isn't being dismissive either.]
And good call about those medicines. I think I'll hit up places that have some pharmacies and get some basic pain killers if nothing else.

Nice? Now there's a word for it.

You aren't wrong.
[. . .]
You make it sound like a bad thing.
no subject
Depends on which part you mean.
no subject
Because I'm warning you right now, I show no mercy.
[Except for certain types of people because she can be incredibly picky and partial.]

[Gentle teasing from bright, friendly, grateful faces in Turner's Vale; thanking him for his efforts, for what he provides for the village. Telling him he should smile more, tittering at him for his dour, sometimes charmless manner. It settles strangely in him, like a piece that doesn't quite fit as it should.]
Show as little mercy as you want, I've been less affected by far more. [If he can deal with the Polymath, he can deal with Monts.] Just don't expect me to soften my words on your account in turn.
no subject
I think I see what we're working with here.
[A (dramatic?) pause.]
You don't have any friends, do you?
no subject
What?
[HOW IS THIS RELEVANT]
no subject
[she said no mercy, SHE MEANS NO MERCY]
You're what they call, "anti-social." It's a sobering but ultimately curable condition.
[Her tone of voice over audio is grave and one can imagine her saying this with an expression of equal measure.]
no subject
[But he was a fool.]
[Sarcasm:] I would like to remain diseased. Find another "guinea pig." [A strange turn of phrase for "experiment", true, but he wants to throw her words back at her.]
no subject
[Really, it's become a conversation of two nearly opposite personalities bouncing off of each other but not in a real positive way. Though it's not entirely negative either.]
I guess to level with you here, I get the sense that you don't dislike me but you probably don't know what to do with it either. And so far I'm not too offended by your attitude so it works out.
