so this was going to be a post about a database i'm working on with some other people and hopefully more people but one of those people seems to be unreachable now so this is also an APB for Gregor.

onto other shit: we've been working on a document that keeps all the facts we know and all the theories we're currently trying to prove/disprove. it's encrypted for obvious reasons but click the link and I'll get you access no problem [ for all those who have come across his videos on how to use encryptions and how to make yourself purely anonymous, fear not! the stupid naming conventions continue: satanwasababyboomer.doc but its safe to assume that anyone who clicks gains both access to view and edit pretty quickly. ]

this tech is pretty old for me. i'm doing what i can to make it both secure AND accessible. if you're talented with early 2000s technology c'mon down. maybe you can make something work that i can't.

i have to admit i'm not the greatest at keeping on top of things like this. could really use the extra hands in general. there are some other people looking to do the same thing as this but hard copy. mingle with them if that's your bag. assuming they reply here (please reply here if/when you see this... if you want to).

also just for my own curiosities: calling all tech people. engineers, programmers, whatever. let's put our heads together. help one another out.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding you, but did you write that you've been travelling through worlds as a train passenger?

That's right. We of the Trailblaze travel through the galaxy aboard the Astral Express, opening our doors to any that wish to join us and offering help to any that might need it.

I'm actually a fairly recent arrival compared to several others, but if you have any questions I'm happy to answer them to the best of my ability.

What exactly is the Astral Express and who are the Trailblaze?

The Express is what it sounds like - an express train that travels through the galaxy. We have a route we usually follow, but occasionally we need to make a few emergency stops off schedule.

As for the Nameless...that's a little more complicated. I wouldn't want to take up too much of your time with explanations if you have other matters you need to be attending to.

( it takes aziraphale a couple of minutes to reply, carefully rereading the message over again. it's a tough pill to swallow that there might be those traveling through the galaxy, but he's frequently been encountering things that challenge his world-view.

he's trying to consider this one seriously. he had met this individual already and he didn't seem the type to spin tall tales. )

I must admit that you have my attention! If you are willing to continue explaining, I will listen. Well, read, I suppose.

You say you have a route, does that mean that your train has an ultimate destination? Or is it on a loop?

Supposedly there's a large network of routes it can take, but I haven't been aboard the Express long enough to reach any one endpoint. Not to mention, the universe is more vast than the average person can imagine; it's quite possible that I could stay aboard the train for decades and never reach every stop along the way.

[ Which is a little exciting to think about. So much left to explore out there that he can only dream of. ]

Although it seems like I won't be able to reach that final destination any time soon.

[ Given how they are all stuck here with no apparent exit. ]

( there is a considerable delay as aziraphale thinks about this. for as strange and bizarre as a train that traverses the galaxy sounds, this young man is entirely correct in the fact that the universe is incredibly massive.

he finds himself briefly lost in his thoughts, considering the vastness of Her creation. )

It doesn't sound like a pit-stop is going to increase your travel time too much in your case.

[ That does get a small laugh out of him. ]

I guess you're right.

[ What's a couple more weeks-to-months tacked onto a journey that might take the rest of his life? The next question has him pausing though, uncertainty over how much of his personal circumstances he should disclose making him hesitate. ]

I originally came from Earth. Due to an unfortunate series of events, I was forced into space. [ Read: he was kidnapped. ] I got lucky in that the Express happened to pick up on my distress signal and came to save me.

( this is beginning to sound like a tragedy. he had been whisked away from a life on earth into space and then conscripted onto a train heading towards impossible destinations. it also sounds a bit like a story from a novel.

but he has no reason to think anyone would so publically tell such fabrications on the network. surely. )
