I've an odd question to ask, if you'll indulge me.

Let us say a world exists where all work toward the betterment of their world, where none go without, and no one need be separated from their loved ones before they could bid farewell. Each day is peaceful and productive, and you know your place within it. You need not leave until you are ready, and only when you feel fulfilled.

Would you choose to live in this world or the one you came from? Why?

And to those who know why I ask this question, I pray you answer as well, and do so honestly. I promise 'tis in the spirit of keeping an open mind.

I suppose it's something of an unfair question, looking at it as it is. But I've no other way to put it.

The fact that my "example" seems to be one-of-a-kind is quite baffling to me, I must admit.

when it's all you know, then what else have you to compare it to? hardly your fault.

The world is a shit hole where I'm from
and what little love i had for anything inside of it is gone
I'd opt to not go back at all if I didnt have something important to do there.

Are things truly so awful that you have no hope for it at all?

For me, at least, that would be true

Then for what it's worth, I'm sorry. Especially if mine own worries have caused you any further undue unpleasantness.

Thank you. Things are a bit complicated now, but I wouldn't mind returning, either.

And in the meantime, I'll learn what I can while I'm here. Can't think of any reason to throw away the opportunity.

Oh? and what kind of opportunity is that?

To learn, even if due to mine own experiences or lack thereof, I cannot fully *know.* Never before have I encountered such a great variety of perspectives, many of which I never could have begun to imagine, much less consider.

Even if it comes to naught or if the perspective isn't one that I personally agree with, there is merit to each and every one, I think. Otherwise I wouldn't have reached out with this question in the first place.
