[ He's making this post while he's also featuring on a livestream against his will, so naturally he's on perma-text. He's also managed to make this post visible for everyone except Louis, or at least he hopes?? As long as the tech advice he got was sound, and he'd got it from Armand so it's really a 50/50 on that. ]
Lestat here.
I come to you with a question in burning need of an answer, but first, a little context.
I have thrown many parties in my time, and have attended even more, and though I'm not at all interested in making this world a facsimile of my own, I am looking to cut loose a little, as the phrase goes.
It is my companion's birthday on Wednesday, October 4th. He doesn't enjoy attention, unlike myself, and will probably loathe the idea of any kind of celebration being thrown in honour of the occasion for a great many reasons, but I so rarely listen to his reason that I feel it would be more of a surprise to him if I didn't try to host a little get-together. And he deserves a little predictability.
I know he wasn't incredibly social before my arrival, but even without familiarity I can't see any reason why you'd be reluctant to attend a gathering with free food.
So, for my question, I would like suggestions for a location. Perhaps a restaurant of some kind? Typically, I would pay someone to do all this planning for me with only a vision in mind, but this City is nothing if not encouraging of being self-sufficient.
Also, if anyone out there is a musician: I have a few guitars, some drums. I'd like to play a song or two as a source of entertainment, and we all know solo acts are never quite as successful as a whole band.
For everyone else, please feel free to come along. Details will be added when I have them.
It's sure to be one hell of a night.

... Well, they seemed friendly in the park. Harmless. Midnight likes to think he's a fairly good judge of character. Perhaps it's a wonderfully theatrical name, just like his own? Or maybe they're just... nice?
... Okay, vampires are not nice, except for the ones that are eccentric enough to be relatively harmless, but Midnight is also aware that he can't just leave this alone either way. ]
I see you have a guitarist offering his services, but if you've room for a second, I can offer my own. I don't think I can pick up the drums in time, unfortunately, but I can try to be prepared for any future celebrations.

All good bands have the sense to have more than one guitarist. What kind of songs do you know, my friend?
[ video > text; ]
Anyway, the attached video, entitled a very illuminating practice87.mov, is centered mostly at someone setting up their phone aimed at their guitar, although their long black hair and flashy attire are perfectly evident behind the instrument. Midnight's clearly posted up at the ice cream parlor, sitting near the jukebox. After a moment, the current song ends, and the next one plays, and Midnight plays along with the supporting guitar perfectly. Practice #87, indeed. He's familiar enough with the song to have some fun grooving to it, his hair and body moving with the beat, but it's clear that the focus here is practice, not theatrics. It ends, as all practice videos do, with Midnight stretching his hands, then leaning forward to shut the feed off. ]

That song is similar to a popular song in my world, and it plays quite a bit when I'm in there, so I decided to work out the chords for it in my downtime. I'm more of a hobbyist, so I play whatever I fancy, but I must admit that this genre speaks to me.

Stunning.
I never thought to use the jukebox in that way. I've been relying on the little Walkman I had with me when I arrived for music.
[ Not that Lestat needs to practice with any instruments himself before simply Knowing It; the dark gift takes care of that for him. ]
I'd love to see you play in person. You'll come, won't you? I'm sure Louis would like to see you, too.

[ What's a Walkman? Some sort of music playing technology from another world, Midnight assumes. Perhaps it's called something different in Terra... At this point, it's usually a safe bet. ]
Even if my services weren't in demand, I'd never pass on an invitation to a party, especially one hosted by someone as gracious as yourself. Do you require any other services for the occasion? I'd be happy to help in whatever capacity I can.

A man after my own heart, then, it seems!
[ Oh if he only knew :') ]
It will be another nighttime venture, but I'm sure that won't be a problem, will it? With a name like that, it would be too funny to find out you're early to bed and early to rise.
As for further assistance, do you have anything we might decorate with? I'm drawing quite the blank. In the past, parties have relied on the extravagance of the venue rather than gilding an average one.

Ah, decorations! If all you need is to beautify a temporary venue, modernity has certainly delivered upon its promises of such conveniences. Streamers, signs, and confetti can be acquired at most grocery stores, and depending on the tone of your party, you may also want to search for flowers, or perhaps some balloons... Would you like me to look for decorations of a particular nature or tone?
[ Midnight has thrown his share of last minute parties. He's got this. ]

The theme for this party is anything eye catching; I like things that dazzle, and sparkle. But I also like arrangements of flowers, as does Louis... and since it's his birthday perhaps we should lean toward the latter.
Then, let's settle on anything gleaming and chic, modern but not minimalist. And flowers on every table.

The venue has been suggested to me by someone on this post, I'll attach an image.
[ Which he does. ]
Come by as early as you'd like. I'll be there from, let's say 4 or 5.

[ ... He's humble, too! Sometimes. ]
Certainly. Just so I'm prepared when I arrive, did you have any colors in mind?

I intend for this to be a dazzling party.
down to move this to action if you are! no pressure though :)
[ Midnight will be there twice! Once to set up the decorations, then again, as promised, to lay out the flowers and work out finishing touches. As promised, he is a very diligent and enthusiastic worker! ]
