This might be a silly question. But how do you suppose we should be counting our birthdays here?
I technically should be 19 now, I think.
But if it's Halloween, I'm still a bit away from my birthday, too.
Should I be 18 or 19?

Not exactly. I don't really celebrate my birthday, but I was curious as to what other people are doing.

It would be too much hassle to keep track of how many days it's been since you had your birthday at home, so it's probably easier to go with the date as it is here.
