What kind of food is usually served at a gala?

You're not by any chance related to Alhaitham, are you? A sibling, maybe? Cousin?

Generally, something portioned to be easy to eat while moving around the space. Something on skewers, maybe, or in individual bite-sized servings.

Meat and vegetable skewers, sandwiches, and seafood balls are some of the savoury foods I'm thinking. For sweets, I could make dango, madeleines, or candied nuts.

Have any particular suggestions?

Honestly, they all sound good. I admit I'm not generally one for seafood, but that doesn't mean others wouldn't be. What are dango? I...think I know, but I want to be certain.

It's a rice dumpling, usually served on skewers with a sweet sauce poured over it.

I'm neither irritating nor accusatory; those are both things you attributed to me.

And that sounds good. I suspect it would be a big hit among the attendees.

Am I the only one working on food, or have you got others?

I would disagree, but to each their own opinion, I suppose.

Thus far I've had a few volunteers for food. And I'm too familiar with the idiom "too many cooks in one kitchen" to think it's a good idea to have all of you try to work together and produce a reasonable result. Rotating the same prep station seems like a nightmare of logistics, as well...maybe we can give you all individual stations?

If you can make it work, I don't see an issue with that. I can stop by while you're setting up the venue to see how you plan on doing this.

That's probably for the best. That way, if there are particular specifications needed, we can address them early on in the renovations.

When should I show up?

Sometime between now and the 25th, I would say. Earlier if you can visualize easily a lot of what you'll need and want more input in the design, later if you need a little more of the space actually torn apart before you can start making your plans.

But either way, no later than a week before this thing actually goes off.
