Good evening, dear City. Lestat here.

As I'm sure many of you are aware, the upcoming Sunlight at Midnight Black Tie Gala is fast approaching. It should be a fabulous evening and a perfect opportunity for those of us who enjoy a little get-together to do as the saying suggests and get together. Dates aren't mandatory, I'm sure, but there is one person on the guest list who absolutely cannot attend alone; its very organizer, Ghost.

She is talented, smart, incredibly funny and the dress she will be wearing is not a sight that should be missed. I should know, I helped her pick it out.

She should be beating her suitors away with a stick, but as of yet she hasn't been asked. I can only assume it's because no-one has realized she isn't already taken — an understandable mistake to make, I made the same one until I was corrected recently.

If anyone is deliberating their attendance due to not having a date or perhaps hopes to find someone to accompany them on the night, this is a perfect opportunity. I can even assist with finding you an outfit or teaching you to dance properly. But take heed that I won't allow anyone without manners to take her hand. You will need to buy her a corsage and treat her well. I don't want to catch you leaving her a wallflower for the night. I'm not a good person to disappoint.

Brave and bold? You mean my posting this? Hm, I don't think I'm being particularly brave... but I do very much like to be bold, so very well.

It hasn't worked as of yet, but I have a little list of potential candidates. I take it you aren't suggesting yourself?

oh no not me. we've only just met. me and miss ghost i mean. and she seems very impressive and cool but she deserves someone who knows her well to take her to the gala.

since you like to be so bold, does that mean you already have a date too?

I would argue that a date is the perfect opportunity to get to know someone you don't already know, but I won't push the issue. I've already been warned off it.

I do, yes. I have a companion who is very dear to me. I haven't asked him, exactly, but more often than not with these kinds of things I find that I don't really need to.

Huh? How can you be so sure? What if he thinks you're going to ask but then you don't and he feels sad!

I have found him an outfit and left it by his things, and I made us a matching set of flowers for our button-holes. That, and I tell him quite often how much he means to me. Those things combined, I think, are enough to make me certain he knows of my intention.

In fact, I'd honestly feel a little silly actually asking him, since I already know what his answer will be. He'd probably be just as surprised if I did.
