It is a ghastly looking book that is leatherbound. The outside doesn't have any manner of labels on it, but it is a tome that was penned by someone from my world named Enki.

Whoever took this and can hear me, know that I will look the other away if you return it immediately. I shouldn't have to educate someone that there's no point in stealing from each other while we're all stuck in this place.

Then the next question is about the thief's motives: why would someone wish to steal your book?

These... books I have contain information on the gods of my world. As well as instructions on how to arrange for a ritual to commune with them. The book in question was for a method on a ritual for one such god.

However, with things as they are in the city affecting our abilities including spells, I don't know what will happen if the person tries to enact this ritual. Basically, it's a horrible fucking idea all around to try anything. Even if it works as intended, you'd begin an affinity with such gods -- something I strictly never recommend anyone do.

...It isn't worth it.

Then in that case, I believe you're looking for a culprit who is either unaware-- or doesn't care-- about the possible consequences.

And that's the problem. No one does, not to my knowledge. ...Who wouldn't be a little desperate to find a means of escape from this place, after all. And if a god's power is able to help in that regard, some people might be keen to say "damn the consequences" and go about their intentions.

I despise doing this, but I might have to have stricter means of tracking who comes by the clinic at this point. Classes included.

Oh? Do you man the clinic? It might be wise to install some sort of security measure once you retrieve your stolen book, just to ensure this doesn't happen again.
