[Daan's voice sounds both irritated and cold.]
An item of mine is missing, and I need it back in my hands. So if you have seen it, inform me as soon as you are able.
It is a ghastly looking book that is leatherbound. The outside doesn't have any manner of labels on it, but it is a tome that was penned by someone from my world named Enki.
Whoever took this and can hear me, know that I will look the other away if you return it immediately. I shouldn't have to educate someone that there's no point in stealing from each other while we're all stuck in this place.

Dearest Daan!!!!! Fret not, for I shall personally undertake the retrival of thy loss and persecution of the perpetrator myself!!!! They shall not escape this justice-filled wrath of mine!!!!!!!

I wish I had some clues to provide. I don't have a good list to narrow down; I've been providing first aid classes every weekend, so it could have been a lot of different people.

It sounds like a fairly interesting read, Daan, but considering you'd like it returned promptly I'm going to guess you won't tell an interested fellow what it contains.
[ He loves books... ]

I think it'd be a poor idea to share its contents. I don't enjoy being cagey about it, but considering that it was stolen, I'm not excited to get into the details.
no subject
No? And what if the purpose of that book was able to narrow down who might like to take it? If it's something terrible, they might even return it all too willingly.

I made the improper assumption no one would go in there without explicit instruction to do so.

I realize that these must be odd questions to ask. The reason why they occurred to me is simply the objective of the experiments conducted here, as well as a number of unusual deliveries.
In any case, if I come across it, I'll contact you.

Why the hell would someone take it. Why.

I don't know. Maybe they saw it as an opportunity.
...It's not impossible. It was the Rher book that was taken.

I won't waste too much of your time, since I can see there are plenty of other volunteers here. Please just know that I will be on the lookout for it. If I might ask, is the urgency behind your request due to the dangerous nature of the book itself? Or is it due to its instrumentality in your performance of your duties as doctor here? Or is it due to personal offense since it is an artifact from your world? I ask not to imply any reason is less urgent, but only so that I can search more efficiently.

...The book itself bears no power, but it does have information inside of it that can teach someone how to do a ritual. So, it can be dangerous, especially if someone just blunders their way through it. The gods of my world are not what I would call benevolent.
So, it's mostly the danger that could be, and the fact that someone had the audacity to steal from me.

I'll keep an eye out, Daan. What are the implications at play, here? [ ... ] Deities?

Not quite out of frame is Vergilius pacing around.]
...It's called a skin bible. About as nice as it sounds.
This one is concerning the Moon God of Trickery, Rher. The book itself isn't magical, but it contains information on how to do a ritual. Any ordinary person could do it back in my world even if they never heard of the god before, so I have to assume the same is here.

I haven't seen a strange book around. But if I were to hide a book that I shouldn't have, I'd hide it where all the other books are, maybe?
