[Alright. He didn't want to be the first one to bring this up, but now that there's already been some Nonsenseā„¢ involving (attempted?) murder, he might as well.]

so how sure are any of us that we're actually alive here anyway
i dunno bout anyone else but i was definitely about to bite the big one before i woke up on that train
and if people don't actually remember it if they try to kill someone or when they're about to die here maybe it's because we're already dead and this is some kind of fucked up afterlife

Well, I did say I had more than one way to answer the question. What if I said "yes", though? That all I had in my future was a sudden, violent death from exactly one cause. Would you be pleased that you were on the nose about a stranger being wilfully obtuse?

(To answer your question directly, though: No, but I wanted to give the most likely answer.)

Thank you. I like being alive.

I think I also owe you an apology. My tone was rather aggressive. It's less that I forgot that you were coming from the memory of your own death and more that I felt attacked about the circumstances of my own. Still, that's no reason to get so testy, nor was it a reason to assume too much about your motives. I do apologize.
