Different worlds? Okay. Still, I gotta see what I'm working with here since the last time I was in a place with people from whatever universe was at 1 AM at the coffee shop and everyone had the grand idea to suddenly order Neapolitan frappuccinos. So here's how I'm going to narrow down and categorize all of you for my sake.

First off, how do you pronounce GIF? With a 'g' or a 'j'

The other categories are "a world with internet" and "a world that used to have internet" or, "a world with internet equivalent but we call it something different."

The last one is kind of rare believe it or not.

Meaning you intend to use the Internet as some sort of standard for, what? Technological achievement? Competence? Strange logic.

Why not "plumbing"? Or "railways"? [You know, all those advancements burgeoning in the capital city back home. Or so he's heard, now that the focus has drifted far afield from magic. Speaking of-] Even "magic".

[Her "strange logic" that is. That said, she does have a reason that makes some vague sense.]

For me, I think something like "gif" is a lot more vague and it helps narrow down the people who know what I'm talking about a lot more. The argument about how to pronounce is well known to anyone who uses their devices a lot.

That and I thought it was just funny.

By your standard. Is there not a possibility that a "gif" does not exist somewhere, and yet the world is advanced all the same? Perhaps more than yours.

I've never been one to panic. It's probably a good and bad trait about me as you've implied.

I'm not sure what to prepare for though. I've never been trapped in another world before.

[As far as she knows anyway. It is a very new situation but because the environment is close to what she's used to it doesn't feel real yet, like the possibility of never going home hasn't set in.]

Are you still grabbing medicine off shelves?

Then you best learn quick. Pick up what you need and take it with you. Simple enough to start.

[She should be collecting resources if she hasn’t already. That said-]

Not today. Already collected enough, though I don’t know what to make off most of it still. You saw those jarred… substances. Think I’d rather treat a few as a last resort.

Hm. No time like the present to start on that then.

[She doesn't sound all that hurried but she isn't being dismissive either.]

And good call about those medicines. I think I'll hit up places that have some pharmacies and get some basic pain killers if nothing else.

Mmn. It must be put to the test eventually. And it's no worse a risk than your pills.

Can't you find another guinea pig to experiment on? Or am I just the nicest one you know so far?
