Hello.
My name is Ken Kaneki, I'm 18 years old and I come from Tokyo in Japan. I have just arrived.
There are still many things I don't understand about this place. But I'm curious, is there a library in this place? Or a bookshop? Or any place for me to find books?
And where do people live? Do you just take a room for yourselves, like everything else? [ it just sounds wrong... ]
What are we meant to do here? [ what is the point of being here, he wonders ]
Thank you to everyone who helped me when I first arrived on the train. And everyone who answers this post. [ he is very polite indeed ]

(He's an old soul. Everything here is still new and shiny. The boredom hasn't hit yet and he isn't easily frightened.)
Hmm
It isn't my story to share. You'll have to find the owner.
How about a bit of mystery? He seems like a boring man but I think his stories are surprisingly interesting.

Oh, of course. I apologize, I didn't mean to pry.

It's been rather peaceful.
(No real danger or anything to really make him worry for his safety. His only real concern is returning home but they haven't made any progress there.)
???
There's no reason to apologize. Some stories are just better told by some than others.
(He isn't bothered!!)

But I think it's the fact that we were kidnapped and not explained what is going on that upsets most people.
Yes, of course. I just didn't mean to be nosey.

(Just a little.)
Senseless things happen all the time. It isn't my first time finding myself in a new place by surprise.
Curious, not nosy.
(A gentle correction.)
It's good that you still have it. Most people would begin to lose their wonder by your age.

Wonder? I think it's normal to ask each other questions, that's how people get to know one another.

(Being taken and passed around as a sword is different from taking a person but he isn't going to explain this. )
I agree! Wonder and curiosity are essential for living an interesting life. Without them, everything would get boring so fast...
But if you want to get to know people, there are plenty of people here.

Although I'd be fine with a boring life as well.
I don't think there are that many of us. This city feels very empty.

(Kidnapping one person is already hard. Kidnapping a small group takes some real strength or planning. But all of these people? From so many worlds? It's unnatural to him.)
But I suppose the city is quite big. There are parts we still haven't seen, too.

What parts haven't people checked yet?
