[ Though the video feed may be started with Daniel’s username, it seems like the man isn’t the only person visible when the message starts. Robby is right there next to him, the man with a friendly smile on his face and the boy smiling, though not as brightly. ]
Hello, everyone! As I’m sure many of you have experienced yourself, suddenly arriving in this place on the train can be more than a little disorienting. And though many people here are incredibly kind and willing to help, Robby and I thought that it would also be nice to have a place where new people can be directed to in order to get some information, a warm welcome, and some equally warm food. So we’re planning on clearing out a space somewhere near the main train station to turn it into a welcome diner of sorts.
We know people are arranging clubs and have regular meet-ups, [ speaks up Robby this time, ] so we thought they'd be a good place to advertise them. Let them know who's running clinics, who to ask about the kiosk or the city. Share what's happened here, too.
[ There's the faintest shift in Robby's tone at the mention of that, but he quickly adds: ] Oh, yeah, and we know there's been talk about how supplies are doing. The food's gonna be packaged and good to take out if people want it–if you wanna help with recipes, or help out with the idea in general, let us know.
[ Daniel is definitely smiling like a prouddad sensei the entire time he’s listening to the boy speak. Please don’t mind a man being very embarrassing, even ruffling his hair once Robby is done speaking. The highest form of humiliation a teenager can suffer. ]
Really, Robby deserves all the credit. He really does always have the best ideas. Everyone, make sure to befriend him, alright?
[ There's a very teenage huff from behind Robby, and the video feed is moving as: ] Okay, I think we're done.
[ Yes, that's Robby reaching for the phone to end the post. Freedom!!!! ]

[ The man sounds surprised - though in a good sort of way, like he's actually kind of intrigued by what she's bringing up here.
Daniel can sure appreciate some good coffee, after all, even if this place sometimes forces you to make do. ]
You've got your own coffee?

It would be from a quaint bakery I discovered some time ago. I would be happy to show you, although I don’t think it could supply a restaurant for the entire month.
[ It’s rather a small shop…restaurant… Well, it's a place with food. It has an espresso machine, too, not that she recognized it when sleeping there for a few nights. ]

Well, maybe I can allow myself to be selfish for once.. [ It's exactly the sort of thing Daniel imagines is a joke, but.. no, Daniel, this is something you genuinely should learn, man!!
Self awareness is not always Daniel's strongest suit though, so he totally intends for it to be a light-hearted joke, especially as he adds: ]
I would love to share a cup of that coffee with you. I rather enjoy trying out new kinds, and it has been a bit more of a struggle to find good blends here than it was back home.

[ It seems fair enough that the coffee can supply the restaurant toward the beginning to the month, at least. It isn't as if she has any ownership here. ]
I make it a practice to be selfish at least once a day. [ The hum is subtle, but the harsh rasp of her voice softens to a hush when playful. ] My sins have stacked tall, but here I am still, and with the knowing of things I would never have discovered had I not seized opportunity for myself.

[ There's something playful in the way she says it, though, so Daniel keeps his own tone similarly light, a smile still on his lips.
It doesn't sound necessarily playful on his end as much as it sounds generally friendly though - like he does mean every word of what he's saying here. ]
So far you have seemed plenty decent and kind. Not everyone would offer to help out when they aren't obliged to do so in the slightest. And I am rather glad to be meeting someone who appreciates good coffee, for one.

You think too much of me. I would not boast mere altruism as my motivation. It benefits me to follow those who come and go in our city. Fine coffee ought to be another privilege that is shared, as then I benefit from good company.
