[ when the video settles into focus, prompto almost looks nervous. there's the slight shift of his weight from foot to foot, clearing his throat once and squinting to – ] 

Is it on? [ clearly, he's talking to himself. ] Okay, okay. Hey, City dudes, it's your guy Prompto coming at you live from, uh... [ he glances around quickly before shrugging. ] City Central, I guess? Anyway —

Figured it'd be good to do a check-in with everyone. See how things are goin' and all that. And as someone who sort of recently celebrated a birthday, I was wonderin' if there's anyone else expecting to do that while they're here. If ya are, maybe we could make a day of it! [ he smiles. ] Orrr, I dunno. Just do something fun? Even if it's small or whatever. 

[ with that out of the way, he gets closer to the camera and plops down on the ground, reaching out to bring the shot closer. ] 

Oh! And if you just wanna hang out, hit me up. I'm always lookin' for stuff to do since it's super quiet around here for, um, the most part. [ and with a casual throw of his hand in a v-sign, he ends the video. ]

Hm. Would you celebrate it by this place's calendar or by the one at home?

[Either way, his birthday is soon, but he never does anything for that.]

Huh. I guess I never thought about it like that. [ there's a pause, humming as he considers the question. ] Can't really say I remember what month it was back home, so I'm just sorta goin' on the one here.

[scowlish]

Mine is soon regardless of which method you use. But I don't really celebrate it.

[burstmodes]

Soon as in next week? A week from now? Next month?

[ he's very excited about this apparently. ]

I get that – mine was kinda intense. Any certain reason why you don't though?

It's in just over 2 weeks, according to this place. Not much sooner at home.

[burstmodes]

[ still doesn't answer his question!!! ]

Wellll. If you were gonna celebrate, what would you do? Back home that is.

[scowlish]

I wouldn't! There's no real point in it, is there?

[burstmodes]

Sure there is! [ wow, this guy needs a pep talk about birthdays. ] It's a time of year for people to spoil you and show you how much you mean to 'em. There's other reasons too. A lot of reasons. And even if it's not big, you should do something nice for yourself.

[scowlish]

[Onni makes a little scoffing noise.]

I don't need to be spoiled, and people show me how much I mean to them all the time. What other reasons are there?

[Something nice for himself? Onni can't even remember the last time he bothered with something like that.]

[ ugh, he's losing this guy. quick! think of something! ]

Aww, come on. Why tell you when I could just show you? We should throw a birthday party!

I've been to birthday parties before!

[When he was a kid...]

I don't think I want a party where I'm the center of attention.

Is that the only reason you don't wanna try to have a little party? It can literally be whoever you want. And if you're worried about all the attention, pretend it's just dinner with friends or something. With cake!

[ if he doesn't agree, prompto's just going to keep pushing until he does. ]

I suppose that doesn't sound too bad.

[A pause.]

Still too much though.

It's really not! Come onnn. You'll have fun, I promise. And if you don't, well, uh... I owe you one?

[ he doesn't sound too sure about that, and yet. ]

[Onni can't remember the last time he had 'fun' to be honest. Maybe at the last festival back home, before Tuuri had died. He remembers it fuzzily because of the drink, but knows it had probably been 'fun.']
