[ when the video settles into focus, prompto almost looks nervous. there's the slight shift of his weight from foot to foot, clearing his throat once and squinting to – ] 

Is it on? [ clearly, he's talking to himself. ] Okay, okay. Hey, City dudes, it's your guy Prompto coming at you live from, uh... [ he glances around quickly before shrugging. ] City Central, I guess? Anyway —

Figured it'd be good to do a check-in with everyone. See how things are goin' and all that. And as someone who sort of recently celebrated a birthday, I was wonderin' if there's anyone else expecting to do that while they're here. If ya are, maybe we could make a day of it! [ he smiles. ] Orrr, I dunno. Just do something fun? Even if it's small or whatever. 

[ with that out of the way, he gets closer to the camera and plops down on the ground, reaching out to bring the shot closer. ] 

Oh! And if you just wanna hang out, hit me up. I'm always lookin' for stuff to do since it's super quiet around here for, um, the most part. [ and with a casual throw of his hand in a v-sign, he ends the video. ]

Just spending time with people I've gotten to know here. I don't mind it being a small thing, you know?

Huh. I remember birthdays being kind of a big deal. Maybe it was only particular ones.

[ there's a soft laugh. ]

Nah. They can be a big deal to a lot of people. Just depends on how you like to celebrate, I guess? And where you are and who you're with. [ he smiles. ] That's why I asked – maybe somebody else wants to do something that way, soooo... Nothing lamer than throwing your own party for yourself, right?

Guess not.

[Actually, he can think of a couple ways to note a birthday less cool than throwing your own party. Like having to go to some big bash when you'd rather not, or, say, getting murdered while you dress for the occasion. Little disappointments like that.]

So... for something more low-key. That'd still involve, what. Cake and presents?

[ would he call those little? probably not, but at least this isn't something that's voiced aloud. ]

I mean, probably. Unless whoever doesn't like cake, but there's all kinds of stuff you could eat instead. And candles! Gotta have candles to make a wish.

Wish? Candles? What? Like a, what are those called. A candelabra?

What? No! Just little candles you stick in the cake and blow out? I'm not sure it actually means anything, but it's just a thing people do.

...The wax doesn't get in the cake?

Only if you let it burn forever. You gotta be fast!

This seems like a lot of shit to remember to celebrate one birthday...

[He'll do it if he has to. But no wonder some people on this post are like, man, I don't need that hassle in my life.]

Maybe, but it's pretty much the same usually? So, you know. Repetition and stuff! Everyone's got birthdays.

[ which means at least several a year to remember and try to celebrate. ]

Okay. Looks like I'll need a cake, at least. And candles... where would I find those? What kind of store.
