Call me Daan. I'm a doctor. That should about cover all you need to know about me.

So, first question: is there already a clinic arranged by someone here? Have there been any injuries on top of there being a willing killer out there? Illnesses or whatever else. I can probably help you, even a little.

Second question: who has been here since the start of this whole mess of being trapped in a part of this city? Ideally, I'd like someone who can be informative, but I'm not overly picky.

There are vehicles, but they certainly do lack engines. I don't suppose we have any engineers around...

Well... I don't fancy myself an engineer but I know the basics of being an auto mechanic if that counts.

But if we lack the proper equipment, then it's like with the medical tools. We're handicapped in the ways that are important.

[limbical]

It's a step up from me. But yeah, we're out of luck without any of the right equipment. I wouldn't even know what you'd begin to do in order to make an engine.

[luciole]

At least the trains operate even if they don't go anywhere except within the city limits. It's a losing battle just sitting there and expecting it to go anywhere new.

Any luck with finding anyone familiar on your end? I'm not as fortunate with that.

[limbical]

Someone told me he tried to walk down the tunnels, but they all looped back. Curious, that.

No, I'm in the same situation at you. I haven't decided if it's a boon or not for them, but ultimately they would probably prefer to have some semblance of control over their lives. Which they wouldn't have here.

[luciole]

[There is a notable pause on Lucy's end before she speaks up, her voice sounding a little more resigned even though she puts in an ask.]

Not that I hope for it to happen, but... If the train brings in more people, would you mind keeping an eye out for someone for me?

[A beat. And with light, cheery jest, she adds:]

[If anything, that just earns a sharp bark of laughter before he answers:]

[he does NOT sound offended.]

[That makes her laugh in return.]

Emphasis on unintended Daan. But I'll watch myself with both my eyes so I don't stumble into such terrible jokes.

[now that one was intentional. cheeky this one.]

Now... He's a young man named River Kwan. Tall and muscular build and shoulder-length dark hair that he'll usually have tied back.

He will most likely call you, 'Bro.'

I'll keep the description in mind. If I happen across the fellow, I'll let you know.

Mm-hm. A good friend. I lived with him and his family.

[Kind of a unique situation when she could have lived with her adoptive parents but hey.]

Honestly, if he were here, I'd feel he'd be able to lift everyone's spirits up. And he's also a doctor who cares very much for his patients.

[limbical]

I certainly wouldn't say no to additional medical help.

[Certainly a very different man than Daan himself, by the sounds of it. A better person. Understandable.]

It would be a boon for others as well to have his company, no doubt. If I see him, you'll know.

[luciole]

If he ever shows up, I'll immediately volunteer his services for everyone.

[The good ol' volun-told technique. But River would probably jump in to help with or without it.]

Thank you, Daan. I feel strangely adrift without him our my other coworkers by my side but I think with people like you and the other medics, at least we're prepared for the worst in some fashion, lack of crucial supplies aside.
