So, first question: is there already a clinic arranged by someone here? Have there been any injuries on top of there being a willing killer out there? Illnesses or whatever else. I can probably help you, even a little.

Second question: who has been here since the start of this whole mess of being trapped in a part of this city? Ideally, I'd like someone who can be informative, but I'm not overly picky.

I can do a good field dressing and put bones largely back in place, but I’d be a shitty doctor so. There’s that.

God, don’t remind me. I prefer soldier but it does border on cop from time to time.

I guess the best term for Preventers is a 'defense force.' Not meant to handle things like someone's sticky fingers from the corner store but more like people trying to kick back off the war we just wrapped up, if that makes sense. Tracking down people that still have mobile suits or are trying to operate factions out of bases to crank out another war between Earth and space kinda thing.

We did. I was born on a space colony, actually. I only first touched terra barely a year ago, and I can't say I'm a big fan.

Interesting. Space travel is a far off bit of imagination for people where I'm from. I suppose there's some mild talk about it, but... hm. I can't imagine it going well for my world.

Not that our planet is paradise, either.

Why do you think it wouldn’t go well? I haven’t met anyone since I showed up that’s also been to space other than maybe one. Kinda bizarre to realize when you grew up with the horizon rolling upward, pinned at the back side of the moon.

I just don’t like weather and birds, to be honest. Low gravity is also pretty great.

It's a matter that, evidently, only affects my world. There aren't charitable beings waiting in the heavens, especially not the Moon.

I don’t really mind but no one should expect me to baby them.

The Moon? Really?

Interesting. The colony I’m from sits outside of the Moon’s orbit behind Earth, so I guess the Moon is kinda special for us. There’s nothing quite like the Moon from space, after all. Maybe not as colorful as Earth but it just weirdly feels like home.

I'm in no way lookin' to go to your violent-alien-infested world, so don't worry about it. I guess if we find any of them while terraforming Mars or the Moon we're just gonna have to halt mobile suit decommissioning for that purpose.

I guess if you want the simple terms it's a large robot designed for someone to pilot and fight inside of. They come in lots of different shapes and sizes and names, as well. Choose your favorite usage type of deal.

Yeah, there's a lot of people here that have said the same. Don't worry, though, all anyone's missing out on is more war machines, though I would feel better if I could somehow get my hands on my suit.

I doubt that'll happen, though.

There have been two groups so far, several weeks separated from each other, but in no other way significantly different in method or means.

And not much else to tie us together, really. The fact that they seem to reach into the depths of separate universes bothers me and tells me that these aren't people you'd normally want to contend with.

[He sighs.] How irritating.

It is that. We can only guess at their purpose, let alone their means, or who "they" might be. As for the nature of this city... It is, in a word, Impossible. Like a simulation game, or something out of a lucid dream.

Will you restrict your services at all, or do you plan to stretch yourself?

Bothersome. Annoying. If I had a thesaurus, I could offer more.

Depends on how injured or needy people are. Basically, if someone has a papercut, they can handle it their damned selves. So I'd rather be considered more urgent services.

I will keep that under consideration. You are making a significant resource of yourself already; do you have any other relevant experience, medical expertise aside?

I suppose I could commit myself to being frantic and emotional, but that doesn't seem very helpful in this moment, does it?

[He considers a moment.] Hmm, I know some self-defense. I was a combat medic. Ideally, that won't be necessary here. Other than that, I don't know what exactly would be relevant in our situation. Perhaps my time as a butler, if someone wants a mixed drink? That would be more fun than doctoring.
