oh yeah heads up
ive heard from certain people who committed this themselves and
apparently if you kill someone here
you get your memories wiped of the incident altogether
not sure why they'd go out of their way to do that here but they do this sort of thing where im from all the time so im very used to seeing it
probably can't say the same for other people from other worlds so you guys have to educate me on that
so uhh
im not saying you should or shouldn't kill altogether
im not your mom
but just keep that in mind the next time you got some kinda murderous urge or something
the reason why im anonymous right now is bc i don't wanna reveal who did that in the first place
it might lead to some awkward icebreakers on their part
also i wouldn't lie about something like this if anyone's wondering bc i got no time to waste on leading people on
but this is probably the worst thing any newcomer would wanna see, huh
whoops
well... welcome to this city, i guess
( ooc: feel free to threadjack and craft theories! kromer/@gripper will also be answering questions about things she knows as a victim as well. )

And you're unwilling to divulge their name... Because you're concerned about that knowledge leading to "awkwardness".
If you are not the killer yourself, then you are either a liar, or the stupidest person I have ever known.

@Kromer, threadhopping 👌
well. she sure can use this to her advantage. there's nothing else that could have happened, she always goes through this despite it never feeling like it really happened to her, but certainly certainly certainly... )
Thanks for the heads up, Anonymous, but if anyone wants some real firsthand information about this kind of thing--
Well. I'm a poor victim of this crime!!! Ask whatever you want, and I'll do my best to answer.

@weltyang
It's not a wholly unheard of procedure, though it's used largely to remove memories of knowledge that civilians shouldn't have access to. Though I suppose murder might be considered unwanted by some people...
Have there been a lot of these types of incidents so far?

How are "certain people" confirming that they murdered someone and lost their memories of having done so… if their memories have been wiped of doing it in the first place?
Not what I would call a reliable source
anonymous
@vogel
maybe he could delude himself into thinking he wasn't the source of this public discovery, but kromer kromering up above and everything sure confirms the obvious fact that he is. ]
Thank you for letting people know.

Gotta say I'm a little disappointed that there's already been some killing.
[Especially if this is someone from the City, which he's assuming with that comment about memory erasure being common and the way Kromer's down there being the redditor of the year, bless her thigh high booties.]
Had to happen sooner or later. At least now we definitely know we're being watched and judged on a baseline of human morality.

If killing results in memory loss and the victims return to life, I worry rather than discourage murder, it will encourage it as a system of no permanent consequence in a place with a somehow growing pool of victims to pick from. This is more than concerning.

un : maxwell
So does the victim get to remember, or no? If so, super fucked because now they have to be on their toes for their amnesiac murderer all the time.
That’s twisted on a new level.

"Memories wiped of the incident altogether." To what degree? Certainly not enough to stop them from informing you this happened in the first place.

is erasing your memory of the incident supposed to be a punishment? it doesn't work as one on basically any level. so there's got to be some reason for why they'd erase the memories leading up to a death in this place. and maybe that has less to do with the murderer vs murdered specifically and more to do with a secret about death that the city wants to keep secret.
